Robin M. Rawlinson, D.M.D.

I brought myself and two out of three of my children to Dr. Rawlinson's office. I needed a dentist closer to home as our previous dentist was about 30 minutes away. It seemed to be problem free until I brought the last of my three children if for a cleaning. I was told I had a balance for myself, two of my children and my boyfriend. I explained I had excellent dental insurance and never have received a bill for anything routine..ever. Further more, I am not responsible for my boy friend's bill. He is on my insurance but never once listed me as a responsible party. I was told that everything was covered by my insurance. For example, when hygienist asked to take XRays I said as long as its covered. She checked and said yes, the insurance covers every so many years and I was in the right time frame. Also, why did they let four people receive services on at least four different dates without bringing up that I had a balance? I wasn't told until I brought my last child in that I owed money for services. I was also told " they do not participate in insurance" and by then it was too late to dispute. This was very confusing to me. Insurance coverage was of course brought up many times and they received payments from my insurance company. The secretary took out a very confusing contract I signed. I still to this day do not understand it. I would never go to a dentist who "doesn't participate in insurance" it just doesn't make sense for me to pay for a service covered by dental at my other office to save myself a 30 minute drive...especially with my low income. They are also holding X-rays hostage. If I have to pay for the X-rays that were supposed to be covered they should have been given to me.
