I am rejecting this response because:I knew that [redacted] was going to try to demonize me, with my Legal Cannabis Prescription, & use. He threatened to turn me into the police for my growing cannabis, for my brain cancer. The Police in Placerville, are not honoring the Law of California, but instead, using the Federal Law, that Cannabis is a dangerous drug, (That no one has ever died from.)So I was afraid, to turn him into the BAR. I will now.Just the facts:A car with 2 bent rods will not even go 1 mile, as per the Jaguar Mechanic that inspected [redacted]'s work, & called him a "Thief."Do not take your car there, unless you want to go through the same. I contacted his Network yesterday.Sincerely,[redacted]

Review: Re: [redacted]. Bought the car w/114M on it, needing the timing chain repaired. We drove the car, about 140 miles into the Sierra's, & then, contracted Robinson's auto to replace the timing chain. (We did not have the $300 tool, needed for the timing chain. How I will forever, regret, not buying that tool.) After replacing the timing chain, I go to see the car. The car was reassembled. I asked the mechanic if he had dropped the oil pan to clean out any debris, from the plastic sliders, & he said: NO. I told him to do so. The next day I get a call from the [redacted], telling me that when he fired up the car, it now, had 2 bent rods. (Yeah, that happens, if you, or you mechanic, forget to put oil in it.) My husband & has restored 10+ vintage cars & sold them at Scottsdale & Monterey Auctions, etc. You cannot drive a car that has 2 bent rods. We would not have purchased this car, either, if it needed an engine. They are too expensive to rebuild. The Jaguar dealer that we took the car to afterwards, to inspect the abs system, confirmed this, as well. The car was there for over a year, & I had to sell my sailboat & lose $25,000 on it, to pay [redacted] for a new engine. When I get the car back, the power steering fluid leaked out. I then put her under a cover for a year, as I was recovering from Brain Cancer. When I call [redacted] about the leaking power steering fluid, he says, bring it in. I asked him to run the code on the Traction Failure light that was on when we bought the car, & he said that it was the abs module. I needed this done to sell the car, so I had him do this. When I got the car back, The ABS failed on the drive home, the transmission gasket from the rebuild, was leaking, & once again, I was stuck. Took the car to the Jag Dealer & they said: ABS Internal Failure. Twice, this crook, has taken us. Anyone, who knows mechanics, knows that you cannot drive a car 1 miles with a bent rod. Hello "Robinson's, Destroy Your Engine, Shop." The paint on my trunk was also damaged.Desired Settlement: Refund of all Labor costs on the Engine Rebuild. I would have done this for him, if I had made the same mistake. Refund the $1600 for the abs module rebuild, etc. that was not performed correctly. This will not compensate us, for all of the duress, or financial problems. It will just take our money back out of this crooks bank account, & back in ours.Beware, this guy is a Crook. He will lie to you, with a smile.Con Artist.

Business

Response:

Robinson's Automotive, Inc. has been in business for over eight years, our three techshave over eighty years of experience in the automotive repair industry. We specialize in foreign and luxury automobiles. We also handle a lot of highend restoration work. Our customer satisfaction rating is beyond reproach.Almost all of our business comes from word of mouth as we do not advertise. Weregularly have at least one if not several customer's with Jaguars in our shop. Our experience, knowledge and expertise with these vehicles is vast. We alsoconstantly keep updated on the latest information and data about thesevehicles, by utilizing [redacted], [redacted] and [redacted] Pro Demandsoftware for resource information. In addition we obtain and follow allthe latest Technical Service Bulletins (TSB's). We take pride in providingexcellent customer service and in treating every customer with honesty andintegrity. Ms. [redacted]'s 1999 Jaguar XK8 was brought into Robinson's Automotive on March 18,2013. Ms. [redacted] drove the car in stating that she had just purchased it. Shestated that the vehicle was making noise from the chains. Our technicians heardthe timing chains, which were extremely loud when she pulled up. Our company never started the car again until after the timing chain was replaced out ofconcern that the engine may jump time, which could/would cause catastrophicdamage to the engine (very common for these particular engines). The customersupplied her own chain kit and was informed on initial written estimate (whichshe approved) that there would be no warranty on those parts. Once the car was completely reassembled with all appropriate fluids added, all foreign material removed, oil pan flushed with timing cover removed for access, the vehicle was then started up. The vehicle then presented (upon startup) with aRod Knock, which the customer appears to be confusing with a bent rod. This was due to the vehicle having one spun Rod Bearing (and another on theverge of being spun) as was later confirmed by [redacted] at Motor Machine Super Shopin Carmichael, CA. This spun rod bearing, after inspection, showedlong-term damage. i.e (driving for a while with low oil most likely) After presenting this information to the customer she wasn’t sure if shewanted us to install an already rebuilt engine or to have us rebuildhers. After months of waiting, Ms. [redacted] decided to have us rebuildher engine. She even supplied her own crankshaft (which lends to participation on her part),As her crankshaft was too badly damaged to use in the rebuilt engine. We were evenable to salvage two connecting rods out of a [redacted]ated engine to replace the twobad rods, for which we never even charged her for the tear-down of another engine. We then rebuilt the engine and returned the vehicle to the customer with the engine working properly, asdesigned. This total process took about ten months, which included the timespent for inspection and diagnosis, waiting for the customer to decide how toproceed, waiting for the customer to decide whether to purchase a used engineoff the internet or rebuild her own engine, finding and acquiring parts,Having the parts of the engine machined at a machine shop, and the reassemblingand reinstalling the rebuilt engine in her car. At every juncture we helped andgave advise to the customer about how to save money on the project. Afterthe many hours of labor (that were not charged) many price reductions given onrelated repairs such as replacement of her front brakes, drive-line. flex disk, battery, and work [redacted]e at no charge, she was only billed $5609.02. Theaverage for a job like this would normally be between $8500 to $10,000 minimum. The project was completed and she stated that she was completely happy andsatisfied on January 23, 2014 when she paid for the work without hesitation. In January of 2015, about one year after we completed our work, MS. [redacted] calledand stated that due to a Power Steering Fluid leak, and her illness, she hadbeen unable to drive the vehicle or return to have us check the leak. She askedif [redacted] would extend her warranty as she had only driven the car a couple hundredmiles. [redacted] agreed to extend the warranty as a courtesy, giving Ms. [redacted] anadditional twelve months or 10,000 miles on the original warranty in the workperformed. The extension of the warranty was expressly contingent upon hergetting regular services [redacted]e on the vehicle. On February 5, 2015 she brought the car in for the repair. At that point shestated that she was considering selling the car and was ready to address anissue with the ABS light going on. The power steering leak turned out to be ahose clamp that needed to be re-positioned. We had the ABS Control Module sentout to a re-builder to be re-manufactured,because Ms. [redacted] indicated that shewas financially not in a position to purchase a new unit. When we got the unitback and installed it, there was also a problem with the Wheel Speed Sensor andABS Wiring Harness. After those issues were repaired we test drove the vehiclefor about thirty miles on local streets and freeway. During the test drive the vehicledrove fine and we did not find any problems or issues. The vehicle was returnedto Ms. [redacted] on April 18, 2015. She was happy with the repairs and how thevehicle operated. The charges for this work were also discounted. On that same day the customer called and stated that her ABS light came backon, she also texted a picture. We apologized and told her tobring it back in for evaluation. We made it very clear that the parts andrepairs were under warranty. She did not bring the car back inas we requested. On approximately May 8, 2015, Ms. [redacted] called us, sounding very upset. She yelledabout the ABS unit and her car. We were polite to her and let her vent herconcerns. She then became verbally abusive and threatening. Shethreatened to post bad reviews about our company on the internet unlesswe paid her $5,000.00. Ms. [redacted] claimed that if we did not pay her she wouldruin our company. When she made these threats we ended the telephonecall. We did immediately send her an e-mail to let her know that we weresorry that she had not been well, We also explained that we would gladly fixthe ABS issue. A couple days later we were alerted by a customer about a reviewleft by [redacted] on [redacted] regarding our shop that was dated April 25, 2015 whichwas before receiving the threatening phone call.We have heard by Ms. [redacted] that she has been struggling with brain cancer andother physical health problems; as well as trouble with law enforcement. We suspect that her complaints are related to these issues. We have always been willing towork with Ms. [redacted] to address and fix the ABS problem, but we will notfall prey to extortion. We can provide the Revdex.com with any information or documentation it would liketo review. We do not think that any further communication with Ms. [redacted] willbe fruitful and are in the process of evaluating taking legal action ofour own.
