Rob's Painting Reviews (2)

This email is in response to a complaint submitted by Ms. [redacted] Ms. [redacted] contacted me in January of 2017 to obtain an estimate for painting the exterior of her home.  The following was agreed would be...

completed:·Pressure wash the exterior·Sand the bare spots·Prime the bare spots·Paint one (1) coat on the body·Paint two (2) coats on the deck spindles·Paint the windows (wood ones)·Paint the inside porch (ceiling and walls) When it was her turn to be completed,I employed five sub-contractors to make sure the home was completed on time and before the season was done because the weather is changing. Ms. [redacted] was shocked that we were able to complete itin three dayssince she commented that she painted it herself last time and it took her all summer. Her home is not large by any means and when you hire professionals, it should not take more than a couple days to complete an exterior painting job. We were on-time, cleaned up and performed the tasks listed above. In addition to the tasks listed above, I completed the following at no extra charge:·All the screens on the porch were painted, which was not included·Painted the plywood under her deck, which was not included Ms. [redacted] did contact me and stated there were areas missed. I then hired one of the sub-contractors to come with me to complete any issues she had. I want to mention that there were very minimal touch ups. I spent a couple hours with her making sure she was happy and then I come around the corner of her home and there is Ms. [redacted] with one of my blue paint brushes. I asked her what she was doing and she just laughed at me and walked away. I have painted hundreds of homes and have never had an issue. If there are items missed, since no one is perfect, I have gone above and beyond to make sure the homeowner is happy. I have hundreds of homeowners who will give me the utmost recommendation. I and the sub-contractors I employee all have years of experience and have worked as a team for many years. By having this experience together, we are able to work as a team and get the job done. Ms. [redacted] will never be happy and I should have known that from my gut feeling when I met her the first time. Sometimes you just have to pass on work when your gut tells you that this could be a customer who will never be happy. I do not plan on returning as I have already gone around the whole house and fixed all areas Ms. [redacted] stated were missed. She provided me a list the last time I was there and then paid me when I was done. If she felt there was still work to be done, she should not have paid me. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact me at 262-490-5415. Thank you. [redacted] Ruemler[redacted]’s Affordable Painting

This email is in response to your letter sent to me on October 24, 2017.  I am responding to the complaint made by Ms. [redacted], #[redacted]. I am a self-employed painter who does not have any employees.  I hire subcontractors to help me complete the work and I am at the job and manage them.  I met with Ms. [redacted]’s husband when I came to bid the job.  She was not there and the following estimate was accepted by them:·Pressure wash the exterior·Sand the bare spots·Prime the bare spots·Paint one (1) coat on the body·Paint two (2) coats on the deck spindles·Paint the windows (wood ones)·Paint the inside porch (ceiling and walls) There is no mention of screens when I looked at the job. I painted them at no charge to the homeowner. Also noted, the hand rails were not peeling. There is no mention in the estimate that they accepted of sanding the handrails or spindles. They were bare spot primed and two coats were applied as quoted. I also painted the underside of the deck at no charge. Upon completion after returning to the job to complete touch-ups, Ms. [redacted] sent me two pictures of what she felt needed correction after I came back. One is of the blue paint on the screen which is a swiped paint brush mark. Interesting part of this is that where this is done there is no blue paint anywhere that this would make sense to be done here. She is the only one who had the blue paint brush. The second picture she sent is of a perfect small square on an under hang. I don’t know how this would be there. It makes no sense. Upon receiving the pictures, I offered to send out a subcontractor and they declined. If Ms. [redacted] was so concerned on October 8, 2017 why did she not stay and review all the issues with my work. She reviewed her home and stated everything was okay and she paid me. Ms. [redacted] is fabricating everything and the list just keeps growing. I have completed everything that we agreed upon and I did go back myself with a subcontractor to make sure any issues she had were done. Thank you. [redacted] Ruemler[redacted]’s Affordable Painting(262) 490-5415www.[redacted]saffordablepainting.com
