*** [redacted] The project was completed exactly how it was described in the estimate We repaired the large holes that were in the front 2nd floor soffit During a phone conversation the home owner expressed concern for patching up these holes to prevent anymore wildlife from entering the home The customer also stated that he wasn't looking to paint or repair the entire outside of the home at this current moment due to budget issues But he mentioned that he would like to do so at a future date At no point in our conversation did he express that he wanted the entire soffit replaced, painted or to have the molding custom matched We removed the old rotten wood where softball size holes were located and patch them with new crown molding, plywood and 1xthat was purchased at Home Depot No where on our estimate did it specify matching existing molding to an year old home We prepped and paint the new installed wood as it was specified on our estimate No where in our estimate did it state that we were painting the the entire soffit If the customer had a certain expectation with matching the existing molding then he should have communicated that with us prior to contracting the project since it was not specified in our estimate We completed the project within the contracted timeline and completed the project according to the scope of work in our proposal I spoke with the customer after we completed the project and explained what he "expected" or "assumed" was not part of the scope of work I proceeded to tell him that replacing the entire soffit would cost 4-5x the cost that we had bid on this project Additionally I told the customer that crown molding isn't something that is made onsite "planed/routed", it's not that simple to make crown molding In order to match year old crown molding we would have to have a lumber yard/mill make the custom molding at a charge rate of $95-$per hour plus the cost of material As far as the customer's statement about Roche Painting misrepresenting ourselves as carpenters is completely ludicrous Perhaps looking up the definition of a carpenter would aid in his idea of what a carpenter actually is After I received the partial payment in the mail I called the customer and left a voicemail as to which I never got a call back As far as I am concerned we completed the project as it was specified on our estimate and we are owed the remaining $that is still outstandingThanks Aaron R [redacted] [redacted]

[redacted]The project was completed exactly how it was described in the estimate.  We...

repaired the 2 large holes that were in the front 2nd floor soffit.  During a phone conversation the home owner expressed concern for patching up these holes to prevent anymore wildlife from entering the home.  The customer also stated that he wasn't looking to paint or repair the entire outside of the home at this current moment due to budget issues.  But he mentioned that he would like to do so at a future date.  At no point in our conversation did he express that he wanted the entire soffit replaced, painted or to have the molding custom matched.  We removed the old rotten wood where 2 softball size holes were located and patch them with new crown molding, plywood and 1x6 that was purchased at Home Depot.  No where on our estimate did it specify matching existing molding to an 80 year old home.  We prepped and paint the new installed wood as it was specified on our estimate.  No where in our estimate did it state that we were painting the the entire soffit.  If the customer had a certain expectation with matching the existing molding then he should have communicated that with us prior to contracting the project since it was not specified in our estimate.  We completed the project within the contracted timeline and completed the project according to the scope of work in our proposal.  I spoke with the customer after we completed the project and explained what he "expected" or "assumed" was not part of the scope of work.  I proceeded to tell him that replacing the entire soffit would cost 4-5x the cost that we had bid on this project.  Additionally I told the customer that crown molding isn't something that is made onsite "planed/routed", it's not that simple to make crown molding.  In order to match 80 year old crown molding we would have to have a lumber yard/mill make the custom molding at a charge rate of $95-$105 per hour plus the cost of material.  As far as the customer's statement about Roche Painting misrepresenting ourselves as carpenters is completely ludicrous.  Perhaps looking up the definition of a carpenter would aid in his idea of what a carpenter actually is.  After I received the partial payment in the mail I called the customer and left a voicemail as to which I never got a call back.  As far as I am concerned we completed the project as it was specified on our estimate and we are owed the remaining $836 that is still outstanding. Thanks Aaron R[redacted]
