Review: Rockland Flooring installed bamboo flooring on my upstairs and downstairs floors in November 2012 at a cost of $11,732.43. Shortly afterwards the planks started gapping. In May of 2013 the planks started buckling, and even now continue to do so. In addition to the gapping and buckling, the baseboards were broken and split; the casings were cut too high; a marble saddle was cracked; a brass strip was used to transition between two rooms with different type flooring instead of a proper hard surface reducer of wood. Overall, in many instances improper methods were employed in the laying of the floors and in other instances there was a failure to perform tasks that should have been done. It was determined by an independent inspector for [redacted] that the gapping and buckling was due to the fact that the flooring had not been acclimated to the house for at least two weeks before installation, but had been delivered and installed on the same day. At this point I must add that the owner of this company, [redacted], has failed to provide me with a warranty or a properly made out bill of sale.Desired Settlement: Although replacement of the planks would solve the gapping and buckling problems in view of his overall inferior workmanship I would not trust this to be done by this same company. Short of filing a lawsuit one option would be to have the corrections done by a reputable flooring company and have the cost of same paid by Rockland Flooring.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

No repairs have been made yet. On Tuesday, 7/**/13, [redacted] and I had a lengthy discussion as to what would be done to solve the issues. Believing in his sincerity to make all the necessary corrections and repairs, I spontaneously signed the attachment which he sent to you dated 7/**/2013. Only then did I examine its contents and realize that it did not make any sense at all. Not only that, but it did not set forth in detail what the repairs would entail. I then (as you can see upon examination) scratched out my signature, thereby making it null and void. I pointed this out to [redacted], making it clear to him that the paper was therefore meaningless and should be destroyed. He agreed, and admitted that the person in his employ who typed the form was not qualified. He then asked me to rewrite the paper, make the corrections and email the revisions to him, which he would use instead. Then, upon returning to his place of business he immediately faxed the paper with my scratched-out signature. This man is clearly devious and dishonest, and has not kept his word at any time. He has steadfastly refused to supply me with the warranty to which I am entitled. I am an [redacted] on a limited income, with health issues, and find this situation extremely stressful.
