Rockland Sign Co

Review: We called Rockland Sign Co (which we found out was previously Ramapo Sign Co) to have 2 street signs, a directory sign, and 6 indoor signs done. The gentleman from Rockland Sign Co came on [redacted] to pick up the deposit to start the work. When asked how long it would take to complete the work he said it would be done by the week of [redacted]. We called on [redacted] to get an update on the order and he said the sign had arrived and he would come by on [redacted] to measure the sign holder again so he can cut the sign and install it between [redacted] and[redacted]. We called the office again on [redacted] around 9AM and he said he would come to our office "within the hour." We waited all day and he did not show up. I called him around 4PM on [redacted] and the call went straight to his voicemail. I called again on [redacted] and the call went straight to his voicemail again. I called on [redacted] and the call went to his voicemail 9 times. I called the morning of [redacted] and the call went straight to his voicemail. Each time I called I left a voicemail. [redacted] I went to the address listed and there was no sign company listed. When I asked the neighbors in that plaza they all said his business "shut down a long time ago." We have records that he did deposit the check.Desired Settlement: We no longer want his services as we have already hired someone else and we have found out from others that Ramapo Sign Co (the name before Rockland Sign Co) has a bad reputation of taking deposits and not finishing the work. We would like a full refund on our deposit and would like nothing to do with Rockland Sign Co or whatever he may change the name of the business too.
