Review: I went to Rocklin Smog to have my oil changed and a smog check on my 2006 Toyota Rav4. While writing up the order the service advisor, [redacted], indicated that the car used synthetic oil. I turned to my girlfriend (whose car we were having serviced) and asked if she used synthetic oil and she said no. [redacted] insisted that our car ONLY used synthetic oil. When we went to pick up the car, the price was over double what we thought we were going to pay. When I continued to question [redacted] about the synthetic oil, he indicated that the specs in his computer said that it ONLY uses synthetic oil. I then looked up the information in my owner's manual and the Toyota website - and it clearly states 5W20 or 5W30. Synthetic oil is NOT required for this car.Desired Settlement: Refund of the difference between the oil service package we requested ($29.95) and the full synthetic oil package ($69.95) that we were told our car REQUIRED. Most importantly to stop telling customers that their car ONLY takes synthetic oil when that is not true.
