Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

Rock’s Roofing, Inc. has tried in earnest to remedy the complaints of Mr. [redacted]. Since the installation, we have answered his calls and have been back to his house numerous times to address his complaints. We asked him to call us immediately when the problem was happening so that we could come directly to check it out. He did not call while it was leaking. This month we tried to talk to him on the phone about the issues and he hung up on us.   Again, Rock’s Roofing, Inc. installed the new roof in May of 2015. We did not repair or replace any gutters. The final roofing inspector did not note any problems with the flashing as stated by the gutter company. [redacted] believes that the water over the gutter is due to the spikes and farrows in the gutter. There is nothing different in the valleys that would change the water distribution. And [redacted] believes that the previous leak was condensation in the attic that was alleviated with the additional vents that the other roofer installed. Attached are the pictures of the vents and the gutters.

Rock's Roofing installed [redacted] roof in May of 2015. About 1 year later, he called with a leak. The leaking areas that the customer was having through the roof as I tried to explain to him on more than one occasion was possible condensation in the attic. Rock's Roofing went out to...

his property 3 times to assess the problem. We never saw it leaking in the times we were out to check on it. The other roofer that he hired installed 6 additional attic vents which did solve the problem. Therefore, as I mentioned to the customer, the additional venting in the roof relieved the vapor inside the attic. The leaking stopped. I tried to tell the customer that it was the condensation in the attic repeatedly to no avail. [redacted] just called recently to complain about water flowing over the top of the gutters. The leaking along the gutter in the back was not due to the valleys, the valleys were installed properly and all metal flashings were installed properly. The building inspector did pass this roof after the installation with no corrections. I took pictures of the areas in question yesterday and offered to show them to the customer and explain that we performed all roofing procedures properly. He did not want to see the pictures and hung up the phone. I have not been able to contact the customer since. A year and a half has gone by since the new roof was installed and he just recently called regarding the gutters. The gutter issue is most likely the gutter spikes (fasteners) that hold up the gutter. There are 2 different methods of fastening gutters. The new method that does not leak uses hidden hangers. He has the old method called spikes and farrows. We did not replace any gutters with the new roof. These were already on the gutter.

I am rejecting this response because: This is a faulty roof and the installation was a joke.  The business should admit to this and should have done everything possible to rectify the issues. After installation last May, the first leak surfaced at the end of the summer. Business came out and replaced the ridge row and fixed that issue. Within a year the second leak occured after a snow storm. Business came out 3 times and simply applied caulking around the leaking vent. There was, and never has been condensation in the attic. After the leak continued, business was dumbfounded and said they've done all they can. I contacted another roofer who came out and asked why they hadn't tried replacing the vent (a logical next step). Roofer replaced the vent and as a precaution I had them replace all roof vents with a better quality vent. This was an out of pocket expense and a simple, logical fix. During the winter (still within a year of installation) I noticed water leaking from around two gutters. Early in the summer, I contacted a gutter company who indicated it was a roof issue. After informing the business and on two occasions they finally came over to have a look. As usual, owner said it was wasn't his issue and the roof was fine. He informed me he could get a hose and try to figure out the issue but it would be an extra cost. My roof had no leaking issues until Rock Roofing replaced it. Once again, I guess all of these issues are coincidences? I'm not looking for reconciliation from this company because the response will be the same, "it's not our fault or I don't know how to fix it".
Sincerely,
[redacted]
