It is only the homeowners opinion that #grade wood was used, We only keep #in stock in our warehouse and the wood used for their repair was pulled from that stock
Their statements regarding lack of communication is totally untrue, while I'm not always able to answer my phone, I return every missed phone call within hours
I stand by my earlier statement regarding the homeowners giving us limited windows of opportunity to do our work. All drywall work and painting were completed on time and done in a satisfactory mannor. The homeowners claim that they paid up front for the work that was done is untrue, they put a 50% deposit downh on the total project. We had completed all drywall repairs, painting and hardwood installation, all that was left to do was to sand and finish the wood, which we were not permitted to do.
Their statement that I did not offer any resolution also was untrue, as stated in my initial response, we offered to deduct $from the balance owed to us, which is twich the value of the sanding and finishing of the hardwood in question, OR allowing us to come back, complete our work and be paid in full. It is our opinion that this client simply does not want to pay us what is due
Thank you,

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:[redacted] is not telling the truth.  The wood he used to patch the first botched wood installation job is #2 wood.  Not #1.   I have pieces of that wood in my garage that his crew just threw in my trashcan and they didnt remove it as it stated in his contract that they would.  I kept those pieces to be able to prove, should I have to, that he used substandard wood for a patch job that he created to begin with and didnt tell us that the wood was substandard.  If [redacted] would like a piece, I can certainly provide him with one.  Additionally, the contractor I hired will attest to the type of wood used in the patch job.   I have additional contractors who stated that the wood was substandard #2 wood that was used in the patch job, and I am sure, if I contact them I can have them attest to the substandard quality of the wood install, the wood used, and the subsequent patch.[redacted] is also not telling the truth when he states that he had limited access to our home.   He had almost three weeks of constant access to our home.  We never refused him access and that is evidenced by the fact that he could not complete the job and we had to hire another contractor to complete the job within the time frame that we set and that [redacted] agreed to.  His resolution was not acceptable because he forfeited on his contract with substandard work and no communication.   He didn't finish the job and was going to give us a $400 refund.   As a consumer, again, I have the right to expect a job be done in a timely manner, and with the expertise to do the job to my satisfaction.   [redacted] never addresses the shoddy work his contractors did do in the painting and drywall, or the half right wood install with a patch. He will deny it all I am sure but I have the photos of the shoddy work that they did and I have attached them to my last response.   He maintains that the lack of communication was our fault.  This is untrue and the fact that he could not complete this job speaks to this.  In fact, we spent 3 weeks calling him repeatedly ASKING HIM when he would return to finish the job.  When he decided to respond almost 4 weeks into the job, and found out that we hired another contractor to finish the job, he threatened us and when that didn't work, he offered to give us a $400 refund, but stated that we still owed him $1000.  We don't feel we owe him $1000 for a job that he refused to complete.  In the end, it cost us $1200 to finish the job he didn't.  Please close this complaint out as this Business did not provide satisfactory work, on time, with communication, or the workmanship that they promised.   As far as we are concerned, this business cheats the consumer, provides bad workmanship and does not communicate properly.  There is no resolution here.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: [redacted], has not provided any resolution.   He maintains that he did not finish the job we contracted him for simply because we would not let him back into our home and that our home was not available for him to continue the job.  This is categorically untrue.   He refuses to address that we discussed that we had a timeline of 1 September to have this job completed and he assured and promised us that the job would be done in 5 days.  This, did not transpire.   He refuses to address that he was non-responsive to our continue calls to him asking him when the job would be completed -which went on for a three week period.  His reply simply was that he was on vacation, or that another job took precedence and he was sorry.   As a consumer, I have the right to expect that a contractor follow his contract (he stated all debris would be removed from job site - it was not, his contractors threw the debris in our trashcan and we had to remove it and transport the debris elsewhere). As a consumer, I  the right to expect good workmanship with documented and knowledgeable workers.  This did not transpire.   The drywall job that his contractors put in was shoddy, showed seams, and they completely trashed the surrounding areas with debris, of which we had to clean.  The paint job that they did was not taped properly and they slopped paint on an existing wall.   They didn't even cut the new drywall properly and electrical face plates showed gapping after installation of the drywall.   After going up and down our basement floors over a two day period they completely stained the carpeting on the stairs.    I had just had this carpeting cleaned not two weeks earlier.  The wood flooring job was done poorly to begin with, after [redacted] came in to view it he agreed it was done poorly and said it would be fixed.  Consequently, the fix from [redacted] consisted of a very badly done patch utilizing #2 wood, instead of the installed #1 wood.   This was totally unacceptable and when [redacted] came back into our home to view the patch and see how badly that was done, he never informed us that the patch had been done using substandard wood.   If if was knowledgeable about wood flooring, he would have immediately known this, yet he didn't inform us of this.  The patch that was installed had huge gaps and did not meet up with the existing wood flooring.   Additionally, of the four sub-contractors that come into our home, I know that at least two of them were undocumented workers because they did not speak English.  Luckily, I speak Spanish.   [redacted] assured us that knowledgeable and professional sub-contractors would be completing the job.  This was untrue. As a consumer, I have the right to expect the work be completed in a timely manner with reasonable delays if there are any.   This did not transpire.   [redacted] knew of our September 1st deadline and assured us that he had no big jobs that would take him from completing the work at our home and before our deadline.   Once problems arose with the wood flooring install and subsequent patch, [redacted] became completely non-responsive in communication with us.   He never returned calls until 2-3 days later, and then stated that his contractors would come in, they would not show up when he said they would or they would show up hours after he said that the would arrive.  Our home was available to him to finish this job on a consistent basis.   He simply dropped the ball on the last part of the job with the wood floor. Subsequently, we hired a different contractor who did the job in 5 hours because we were under a deadline to finish this job.   This contractor has noted for us the substandard wood used for the patch, of which [redacted] did not relay to us as different wood that what was installed.  We gave Mr. and his substandard subcontractors ample time to do a very small job.  They did not follow through.  His claim that we did not allow him is categorically untrue.  This company owes me $180 for the carpets I had to clean that they dirtied.  We paid them up front for the work that they completed.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

Below this note is a copy of an email I sent to the clients on Monday 8/216/16.  The floor does not look right simply because they have not allowed us to complete the project.  As stated in the below email, we weren't able to keep to a reasonable schedule on this project as the...

homeowners gave us very liminted access to the property.  It simply wasn't possible to pull our crews off other jobs in the middle of the day for a 2 hour window of opportunity to work when we wouldn't be able to complete what we had to do in that time frame and have to disrupt other jobs again to go back and work in another limited time frame offered by this client.  If we can get in to work until we're done, the finished product will be beautiful, the client is pre-judging it before they canh see it.  The other thing is the patch in the master bedroom popcorn ceiling, while we didn't actually test it, due to the age of the home, there is little doubt that it contains asbestos, which prevents us from scraping it and we were only able to patch it as best as possible. All other drywall repairs, patches and repairs, retexturing and painting were done satisfactorly.
Here is the email I sent them:
[redacted] and [redacted],

I have reviewed your photos, the floor was properly installed and is in the status of needing to have gaps filled, be sanded and finished.

The scheduling delays were due to the limited windows of opportunity you provided for us to access the property and do our job.   It is quite difficult for us to accommodate a two hour time frame in the middle of the day, as our crews are on other jobs and can’t just drop what they’re doing to work on your house.

The only thing I saw from what you sent us is that the patch in the popcorn ceiling is noticeable. It is next to impossible to achieve a perfect match on that, as your original ceiling texture almost certainly contains asbestos.

The facts are that we have replaced the drywall on all the windowsills, as well as the missing section under one window. We have painted the affected areas, as contracted. We have provided and installed hardwood flooring.  The balance due on your contract is $1,400.00, the value of sanding and the final finish on the floor, which would complete our obligation to you is $200.00.  We have offered to deduct twice that amount from your balance if you choose to hire another contractor to finish the floor.  We will be happy to come in and complete our contractual obligation, if you will allow us to, with a reasonable schedule.  The full balance of $1,400.00 will be due and payable upon completion of the work.  If you choose not to allow us back in, we expect to be paid $1,000.00 for the work that has been done.

Please advise us of your decision, either way, by close of business Wednesday 8/31/16.

Thank you,
