It is unfortunate the circumstances that occurred with the customers *** *** *** *** It is true the vehicle was running poorly and had power steering noise when it came in the first time on July 2ndThe
customer stated they had recently purchased the vehicle and could feel the vehicle shudder at higher speeds and got worse when the engine was hotThere was also a "noise" coming from the engine compartmentWe put an ignition coil and a power steering pump in the customers vehicle, we advised an oxygen sensor as well which the customer declinedThey had problems three days later on the highway and had the vehicle towed inThe customer also stated that there was oil everywhere in the engine compartmentWe had a technician take a look at it and the vehicle's engine had no compression, but the oil dipstick showed fullWe stopped there and let the customer know what we foundThe customer then came down and my service manager took her out to the vehicle to look at the engineThere was no oil on the engine and the customer stated that oil evaporatesThe oil on the dip stick was at the full lineThe customer stated that she thought we overfilled the engine oil and this is why the vehicle had this engine problemFluid capacities are looked up for each vehicle prior to filling, and checked again via the dipstick after being filledShe asked me for reimbursement for all the repairs and to take off the p/s pump and coilI told her unfortunately I could not return the p/s pump since it was already run with fluid in itI told her that I would take the coil out and reimburse her for that portion out of good willShe then called back and told me she understood that the vehicle had a lot of miles on it (178,when it was seen at our shop) and these things happen and declined the reimbursement of the coil, at which point we believed the issue to be resolvedThe customer then came in and asked me the cost of an oil change and how much oil it includesWe have a set price for oil changes which includes up to quarts of oil but only charge for The next step was getting the complaintI did put a effort to resolving this even though I believe that our company did nothing wrong or incorrect in this matter
