In response to the customer who is having a bad experience with buyer’s remorse The customer was given opportunities to drive several vehicles over several days and had landed on the truck he bought after two others had been eliminated as optionsOne truck that he initially liked had trouble
starting on a very cold day so he ruled that one out, the second was purchased by another customer while he was home thinking about itMy point being was that this was no “quick sale”; it took the better part of a weekWe stayed open three hours after closing to accommodate him and his father when he did finally decide to buy the truckThere was no misrepresentation of product, taking advantage of age, or quick sale in this situationThis is a young man who has decided he doesn’t like his truck and wants to change his mind againThe first we knew he was having trouble was when he called from MinnesotaHe said that the truck was operating fine till he got to Minnesota; it was there he started to experience troubleHe told me he was working on getting it back homeI told him to bring it directly to our shop and we would take a look at itHe refused to do thatHe called wanting us to give him his money back on the truck that he had damaged but he refused to let us look at itDuring the time before his complaint was filed with the Revdex.com we offered to come put his truck on a car hauler and bring it to our shop at no cost to him, we offered to help him trade out of the truck, This help was all refused and met with threats of a law suit and smearing our name and reputation with the Revdex.com if we didn’t just do as he said and let him have all his money back so he could get another truckThe owner personally called him and made several other offers to help him but he still refusedThe owner explained that it is a policy that if there is a problem with a vehicle it needs to be inspected by our shop before a determination is reached We repeatedly told him that we would need to inspect the vehicle to make a determination on how to proceedHe has refused to let us see his truckIt is my opinion that he is simply having buyer’s remorse and doesn’t want to accept the responsibility of his decision
