My vehicle was towed and the police department admittef it was their mistake and it was an error they admitted their fault and waved their fees but when it came to getting my vehicle out of the tow yard the following day they wanted to charge me an arm and a leg for it and I asked if there was any possibility they could work with me on it or even waive their fees and the woman in the office was extremely rude and shut me down immediately and treated me as if it was my fault. I tried again once a day everyday to see if they would work with me on the fees because I'm a single mother and cannot afford to pay their fees and since it was a mistake in the first place it should not be on me and I was not greeted with respect or empathy and they told me that they could not waive the tow fees because they had to pay the city a percentage of their fees so when I'm not at fault and police department wouldn't take their fault to it why can't the tow yard take theirs

In response to complaint filed by *** and a 2002 Audi. This vehicle was towed on oi/18/20 at the request of Chino Police Department. *** obtained her Vehicle Release form from Chino PD on 1/21/20. She made arrangements to retrieve her vehicle on Saturday 01/25/20. The fees on that date were $773 which included an after hours release fee of $100 as the office is closed on Saturdays. The vehicle was not released on that date due to non-payment as she had 3 credit cards decline.
*** returned on Monday 01/27/2020 during regular business hours. She stated she was still trying to get money together to get her car. On that day she retrieved all her personal belongings from the vehicle.
We did not hear from *** again until 02/10/2020 when she called to ask the fees against the vehicle On that date, fees were $1525. Break down of fees are: $227 for initial tow on 01/18/2020, and $47 per day for storage. In answer to city storage fees - 50% of storage fees collected are remitted back to the City of Chino (per Chino Agreement and Tow Permit 9.4/Exhibit C).
On 01/22/2020 Rodelo's Towing attempted to start Lien Sale proceedings with DMV as required by law, (California Civil Code 3072) but were unable to do so as there is a 'STOP" on DMV records placed by DMV and SANCATT. "STOP" is still on records this date. Thank You, ***
