We were called by Sheriffs Department at 6:30 am for a flat tire.  The customer told Sheriffs Dept that she did not have a spare and money issues. My driver gave an estimate only to fix tire not to replace and swap tires around on vehicle. The customer also told my driver that she took the...

spare out of the back of the vehicle the day before. After towing the vehicle back to our repair shop, which is closed on Saturday. We sold her a used tire. the vehicle was not on the hoist for the repairs as we did not have a hoist available. The tires were changed off of a floor jack.  And since we were told by her and the Sheriffs Dept there is no spare we would not look for one.  The tires were bald with only 1 to 2 - 32nds of tread. The tire was junk and could not be repaired, as it had a bad side walls. We did not have a correct tire size, so the tire that was put on was very close in size. This tire was put on the back, since it was not the same size, and the rear was moved to the front since the same size tire needs to be on the power axles. The Sheriffs Dept arranged a ride for her kid to get to a wrestling tournament in Crivitz Wi which is 92 miles away. This was a very safe alternative for her tire and it got her on her way. Not much I can do with this. My driver explained to her about the off size tire and why it was moved to the rear. Both wheels were then torqued to 125ft lbs. She told me she blew another tire down the road about a mile and another service center sold her another tire. The only service center between us and the direction she was going was 27 miles away, so I'm not sure where she had this done.

Review: I broke down with flat tire and rods was called. The officer explained I needed a new tire and the guy said 150-175 max to get me on the road. It was fixable but no time. I'm on disability that's 1/3 of my check . But I agreed. Except he charged more and there were no other issues but tire. He put wrong size tire on and charged 195.18. When I inquired he asked if I wanted my vehicle or not. Never once did he say it would be more. When I called owner he commented well maybe we should have left me on side of the road. I was charged 195 for wrong size tire that can't be rotated but has to be changed. I had spare underneathe which I did not know but he when up on hoist or jacked up since he was next to it could have easily seen if he checked. It was right next to tire he worked on . The mechanic never asked if I had spare .Desired Settlement: Partial refund because I have to turn around and replace because it's wrong size .I feel like he knew I had no choice so he could whatever since he never said higher price til done then I pay or they keep vehicle.
