On March 2, 2020 I contacted *** of ROEN Construction Inc. to come out to my house and provide me with an estimate to repair leaks on both ends of my flat roof. He came out on March 5 and scoped the work and subsequently provided me with an estimate to do the repair work, which they performed on March 13.
At the time, it seemed that the repairs were properly done. Since there was no significant rain after the repair work was performed, it was not possible to know for sure.
On April 27, after there was rainfall, it became apparent that the leaks were not fixed as the roof continued to leak. I contacted *** of ROEN Construction to advise him of the situation and to determine when they would come out to address the continued leaking.
*** and other employees of ROEN Construction arrived on May 8 to again try and repair the leaks in the roof.
With the continuous rain that fell during May, June and July, the roof continued to leak. Each time, I would take pictures and send them to *** and he would come out to look. He, as well as other workers came out 5 more times through June 22 to continue to try and repair the flat roof leaks to no avail.
Attempts to contact him after June 22 and get someone to come out and do the repair work were not successful. I received various reasons why they were not coming out to do the work.
I attempted to contact him again on July 23 and 24 (and sent more pictures) and received no response. I also called *** on July 24 and left a voicemail message. No response has been received by me.
In addition to the continued leaking every time it rains (almost daily),it now leaks more than before ROEN Construction started the repairs in March. The continued leaking is causing additional damage to the structure of the roof as well as the wood facia board and wood overhang, as well as water damage to the ceiling inside the house.

Finish the job I would like ROEN Construction Inc. to fulfill its professional obligation to repair my flat roof in a satisfactory manner so that it no longer leaks, as that is what I hired and paid them to do. If they are not able to do so, or do not wish to perform the work they were hired to do, I am asking that they refund me the monies that I paid them.
We were contacted and prepared an estimate based Mrs. request. It was clearly explained to Mrs. that the entire flat roof need to be replaced. However, she only requested a minor repair. Mrs. only agreed to repair the northern and southern section of the roof covering an area of 4 ft by 4 ft and 4 ft by 14 ft respectively, as per Estimate # 206 valued at $1,980. This amount was paid with checks 439 and 440 on March 11 and March 13, once the work was completed. After Mrs. contacted us for the second time, we went on May 8 with our crew to repair the additional damage, at no additional cost. Each time Mrs. contacted us, we went and continued work beyond the original scope of work. This continued to happen due to the fact that Mrs. did not want the entire flat roof repaired as originally suggested. On July 14, we notified Mrs. that one of our crew members had tested positive for COVID19, for the safety of all our employees and costumers we decided to halt operations for three weeks. At this point, the only solution would be to replace the entire flat roof as initially suggested. Since, Mrs. does not desire a new roof, we rather send her a refund for the amount of $1,980 which she originally paid.
(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
I accept ROEN Construction's response in that they returned the monies I paid them as the work was never satisfactorily performed/completed. A refund of the monies I paid ROEN Construction was one of the desired outcomes I had indicated in my complaint. It became apparent that they would never be able to perform the work they were hired to do. It is unfortunate that it took a complaint filed against them to finally make them respond.
It should be noted that subsequent to parting ways with ROEN Construction, several experienced roofers have since viewed ROEN's flat roof repair work and stated that the materials they used in their last attempt were not appropriate for flat roofs (the material is to be used under roof tile, etc. not on a flat roof). Additionally, it turns out that many of the roof tiles they had removed in order to make their repair attempts were not properly cemented/replaced. They were merely laid in place.
