Roger Coss Auto Body Reviews (1)

Review: The vehicle was brought to Mister [redacted] to be repaired from a car accident that my car was involved in. The fender and bumper were loose, with overspray and areas that were not painted properly or blended properly with work that was in the estimate that was not even done. The vehicle looks horrible, and the headlight itself still sticks out not installed properly. I walked in to the shop today he points at the car today, real nasty and says "Take a look" then proceeds to tell me "I fixed your other light that was loose as well and didn't have to do that" I asked him what we could do about the turn signal headlight, and he said "Im not getting involved that's between you and him!" The vehicle is in terrible condition and the body work looks like it was done by an amateur perhaps by his son who I am not even sure if he is properly certified to be doing body work in the first place. Bottom line is I was forced to take it back because Mister [redacted] did not want to do anything else with the vehicle, and the paint work looks worse than a [redacted] job, sadly [redacted] probably does better work than this. I will never go to this man again, the disgrace of body work that he has done and for him to hold my vehicle ransom in his shop until I paid the deductible to him when the accident was not even my fault and the kid did not pay for the deductible which ate into my rent miney for May in which I do not know how I will pay for it now because he would not give me the vehicle without it, in which he demanded it in "Cash" and not check as he said as if I was some sg off the streets! I will make sure to tell everyone I know about the horrible body work he did, and he should be ashamed of himself. That business there should be shut down because I am sure that he is cutting corners with other customers as well. Terrible body work, terrible business ethic could care less about me. Shame Shame Shame [redacted] Auto Body!!!!Desired Settlement: You should give back the money to the insurance company so the vehicle can actually be done properly else where. The vehicle looks disguisting. He should have never done the job in the first place!!!! How he can rob me and the insurance company like he did I do not know but I am aggrevated and I am no where near satisfied with my car. I have pictures of the vehicle and can send them to Revdex.com if requested. I should also be refunded my deductible as well, because that is not my responsibility!

Business

Response:

Response:I am very disappointed to see that a complaint has been filed. I have been in business for over 40 years and have never had a complaint filed against my company. In regards to [redacted] 1997 Lexus ES300, the job we performed was very acceptable, as is all of the work we do. We have done work for Mr. [redacted] before as well as his work for his prior girlfriend and family. [redacted] Insurance Company wrote the original estimate for the vehicle. Being a 1997 and 17 years old, [redacted] wrote to repair the vehicle with aftermarket replacement parts. This is an industry standard with most insurance companies for vehicles that are that old. There was also other damage on the vehicle that [redacted] decided was NOT part of the accident that Mr. [redacted] was in, so that damage was not going to be covered by [redacted]. Mr. [redacted] was not happy that aftermarket parts were being used to repair his vehicle. We explained that the majority of insurance companies write aftermarket parts on vehicles that are a few years old, and that his vehicle is a 1997 and 17 years old, it wasn’t out of the norm for [redacted] to write aftermarket replacement parts. From that point on, Mr. [redacted] was on a witch hunt looking for any minute issue he can find. He decided he was going to be unhappy with the way the right side parking lamp fitment. We explained to him that [redacted] wrote an aftermarket lamp and that sometimes they do not fit to original equipment specs due to being made overseas by companies that do not make vehicles. In cases like this, [redacted] has the final say in what parts they will pay for, unless the customer wants to pay extra to cover the cost of the original equipment part. We advised Mr. [redacted] to contact his appraiser who looked at his vehicle from the beginning to see if he would authorize an original equipment parking lamp. The appraiser came back out and looked at the vehicle when it was completed. The [redacted] appraiser said that the vehicle looked great but could see where the parking lamp wasn't 100% fitting correctly. He authorized us to go ahead and order a lamp from Lexus and replace the aftermarket lamp. The vehicle was now complete and ready for delivery. Mr. [redacted] arrived at my shop and I reminded him of the 500 dollar deducible which we discussed before the job was started. As is with most businesses, a bill must be paid in full before leaving. Although it is not a company policy for most of my customers, I requested the deducible be paid in cash because I have done work for Mr. [redacted] before and have been left with an unpaid balance for the repairs that were completed. Mr. [redacted] then brought me the $500 cash and took his vehicle. I am very hurt that he claims that I cut corners with other customers. I have a great customer base that has zero hesitation referring me to others to handle all of their collision and paint needs. Bottom line is, we followed the [redacted] estimate and repaired his vehicle to the pre-accident condition just like any other licensed repair facility would do. He was upset with the way [redacted] covered his claim, so he decided to go over the top and nit-pick little details that to any normal customer, would be 100% acceptable and not even an issue. Some people in this world just cannot be pleased.
