Roger's Auto Body Reviews (6)

Review: In November I wrecked my car and it was towed to Roger's Auto Body, where the owner gave an estimate time of repair of 7-14 days. At around day 15 I called to check on my car, the owner stated they were waiting on parts and to check in another week. I call again, owner states he will replace my door because I lost my source of income due to not having transportation. After 2.5 months of this I get frustrated and the owner said he would provide me with a rental, to just wait and it'll pick me up. 3 days later, still no rental. So I call the owner again, he states the car is almost finished. I tell him that I'll wait for my car instead of causing him the trouble of getting me a rental (trying to work with the company) because he told me it would be finished by the end of the week. I still don't have my car. I have been by the shop every day for almost two weeks.Desired Settlement: Company covers insurance deductible of $500. Provide paperwork to investigate charges made to [redacted]. Lifetime Guarantee on all future repairs (expected to be completed in a timely manner)

Review: I was involved in a car accident where the other driver was at fault. The insurance company told me that they were going to total the car even though it was only body work that was damaged (no structural). I wanted to get an estimate to find out what the actual cost would be to repair it so I could figure out my options. I live close to Rogers Auto Body and I had actually ran into the owner [redacted] a few weeks before. I noticed that Rogers Auto Body gave free estimates so I contacted Rogers Auto Body and the owner ([redacted]) told me that they needed the car sent to their shop in order to provide and estimate. I agreed and had the car shipped to their shop. Once the car was there I received a call from [redacted] and he gave me a verbal dollar amount. I requested something in writing so I could review the estimate and decide on what I was going to do. After several attempts trying contact [redacted] I was finally able to tell him that I was not going to have the car repaired there and I was going to have someone else perform the repairs. [redacted] told me that he needed to contact the insurance company in order to get authorization to release the car. I gave him the information to the insurance company and told [redacted] that the insurance company no longer is involved. I told [redacted] that I needed to get my car and that is when he told me that I owed him storage fees since they are not going to be repairing my vehicle. That was over a week ago. He has held my car hostage since and he will not release the car to me until I pay him. I was never given the estimate, there is no agreement/contract between myself and Rogers Auto Body and the free estimate turned into storage fees accumulating since the first day that my car was delivered without my knowledge. Each passing day the storage fees increase while there is nothing that I can do.Desired Settlement: Release my car to me.

Response:

Customer was given a free estimate within three days of dropping off his vehicle. Over a month later the customer informed us that he was going to pick up his vehicle with no previous attempt to contact us. The vehicle was abandoned at the shop for over a month. Company policy is to charge $50/Day in storage. We explained to the customer that you cannot just abandon your vehicle at a business. He disagreed and tried to pay the storage with a check. We explained that it was cash only.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

The business did not provide a single document, not even the estimate. There is not any terms and conditions stating what the company policy is. Rogers Auto Body has been holding my car hostage because I told them several weeks ago that they were not going to fix the car. How can I have a company fix something for thousands of dollars without anything in writing. Rogers Auto Body will not even provide a bill for the storage fees that they are fraudulently trying to charge. The company response to the Revdex.com complaint confirms this. I am actually surprised they responded since they already have a Revdex.com rating of an F. Although their website states that the company has a Revdex.com rating of an A+.

Regards,

Review: My car was rear-ended in a hit-and-run incident around the beginning of March 2015. I was sent by USAA to get an estimate at Calliber Collision. I wasn't too sure on their quote so informed USAA that I will get a supplemental quote from Roger's Auto Body and Paint in Pacific Beach. [redacted], the owner, said he will take care of it. Let a week go by without hearing anything from them, I decided to call. The person named [redacted] that is there 95% of the time answers the phone and gave me the run-around. In fact, every time I've called which has been at least 3 times a week, [redacted] gives me the run-around. USAA calls me to inform me that the rental that I've had is no longer covered. When the owner Rody actually returns my texts or calls (very, very rarely) he told me he will cover the rental. He has also given me dates of when the car will be done and everytime I show up, he's not there and my car has been untouched, parked under a tree, with leaves all over it. It is now about a month later, I'm sure the rental is up in the thousands. I've tried calling both the shop and owner to no avail. I called USAA in hopes that they can help me resolve this. They put me on a three-way call to the shop with [redacted] and I learned that the supplemental quote was never sent, they haven't started anything on my car. The shop needs to be organized. The people that answer the phones or deal with customers need to be able to answer questions and make decisions especially if the owner is never there.Desired Settlement: I would the car rental that I am driving to be covered IN FULL for the enire time I am without my car, which they are in possession of, and compensation for all of the repairs. The first estimate I recieved from Calliber Collision estimated the repair would be completed in 4 days. It's has been almost a month of negligence at Roger's Auto Body and Paint.

Response:

To whom this may concern,I made a report on Roger's Auto Body and Paint a few months ago on how their service is unsatisfactory. The issues I was having with them have been resolved. The owner [redacted] followed through on his promise that he pay for the rental and explained that the job took a while longer due to waiting on specific parts for the damage that was inflicted on my vehicle.I am requesting that the Revdex.com remove my complaint from the website. The issue that I had was a mistake and has been settled.Thank you,[redacted]

Review: I'm the fleet manager for business in Oakland. One of our fleet's cars was in an accident (front-end collision) on November 26, 2014, and [redacted]'s Auto Body was the closest body shop to tow the car. [redacted]'s gave an estimate for the car, came back at $11,365.08. Parts were on order for three months. Or so they said whenever I called in to get updates. The car is a Ford C-Max, the same car used by pretty much every taxi company in the country. Parts are pretty readily available. So now we're in March. It's already taken three months just to get parts. And getting an update from the shop is almost impossible. Anyone who answered always referred me to [redacted], the owner, who never answers his phone, his voicemail is always full, and rarely returns calls. But finally in late March, the car is fixed. It's been four months, but I just need to get the invoice, pay the shop and pick up the car. This turns out to be another process. It takes two weeks just to receive an invoice for the repairs. So finally receive the invoice after calling both the shop and [redacted] daily for two weeks. The total for the repairs came to $20,312.27, $9,000 higher than the shops initial estimate, not even in the same realm of work needed from the estimate. If our insurance company knew the extent of the damages at the outset, they would've just written the car off as a total loss and we could've leased a new vehicle. It would've saved everyone a whole lot of time and trouble. But at this point, I'm just so happy to have received this elusive invoice that I overnight the check to the shop and get the car picked up, 4.5 months after it entered this black hole of a body shop. And they actually made matter's worse. Just got the car back from the Ford dealership, had them repair the hatchet job [redacted]'s performed on the car. After over $20K paid to [redacted]'s, we had to pay an additional $4,900 for a new long block, due to rust in the car's engine and the botched sealant work somebody tried to repair the damage with.Desired Settlement: I'd like to get the 4.5 months I wasted trying to get this car repaired at [redacted]'s Auto Body. Failing that, I'd like to be reimbursed for the new long block we had to purchase due to [redacted]'s botched repairs.

Review: I had dropped my car off to get repaired in early October 2015. Roger's promised me that repair would take about 1-2 months max. He has avoided my phone calls and has been shady with the repairs so far. It is now March 4, 2016, 6 months later, and my car has yet to be returned to me or be fixed. He took the insurance money, nearly $25k and hasnt done work on the truck! This place should not be in business and by reviewing past customer complaints this is an on going situation. He is in business to fix cars for repair and has yet to do any of this!Desired Settlement: I want my truck fixed now and not 6 months later! Not sure what I can do but I would like others to know about this experience and NOT take their cars to be fixed here. He is shady and a scammer.

helloWhen the vehicle was towed over here at your request from mexico the owner of the vehicle was told that its a big repair and the 4-runner

Review: Roger's Auto Body has been in possession of my vehicle since it was hit by another driver whilst parked on my street. The accident occurred on October 11, 2014 and I instructed [redacted] to begin repairs on November 25th, after I was in receipt of the insurance monies. Since that time [redacted] has purposefully deceived me about the status of the repair. He told me that the repairs would be done January 1st, at which point I have visited his shop several times only to find my truck baking in the sun, untouched since the accident. He does not return phone calls promptly and when he does he lies and gives me deadlines that he has no intention of meeting. He has also promised to cover my rental fees since January 1st, which are totaled at $1500 and counting. I have pictures of the truck taken on several different occasions with no work having been done, contrary to what [redacted] had been telling me. I arrived at the body shop to have the truck towed elsewhere to be fixed but was told that the truck "could not be released" until I spoke with [redacted]. He called me that following Monday and told me he was "1000% sure" the repairs would be done in a week and a half. That was the beginning of February. Repairs finally began on my vehicle a few weeks back after I consulted an attorney who asked to see all the invoices of the parts that were ordered. As expected, there was no response from [redacted].

It is now March 9th and I am still without my vehicle, [redacted] has also simply stopped returning phone calls altogether.Desired Settlement: I want my truck back by the end of this week as well as full-reimbursement for all rental charges incurred since January 1st. I will also not be paying for any labor on the vehicle, so I need to see the invoices for all parts that were ordered.
