Review: Roger's Furniture sold me furniture and also moved me from one apartment to another in NYC on 9/**/15. I have bought furniture in the past and they have been professional. Not this time. The move was a disaster. They charged me $1000 dollars because it took them 4 hours to get from Yonkers to NYC to move me across town. They did not wrap my beds when they moved me and did not bring enough boxes so threw my clothes in cheap plastic bags. Filthy mess and not wrapping my beds or using a bed sack to move is wrong.

In terms of furniture I bought a 10x11 carpet and an armoire for another $1000 which they charged my credit card way before the furniture was delivered. I never received a breakdown of the cost or a receipt for the purchase only a charge on my credit card. The armoire was delivered on the move day but no carpet. Then they said had to leave the day of the move and will be back to assemble the armoire and bring the carpet. Three times they have cancelled the return back to ssemble the armoire and deliver the carpet.

On 9/**, 9/** and 10/* they cancelled via text for personal problems! I am with a huge armoire in a box not assembled and no carpet. They will not cancel my order and Luke hangs up on me saying he is by himself and can not deal with me right now. I have stopped payment on my credit card but I need my money back. I do not want this armoire anymore and they need to come pick it up. I will also do not want to be charged a re-stocking fee. There is dishonesty and illegal business practices that are going on with Roger's Furniture.Desired Settlement: I want to cancel the order at this point and my 1000 back. They can come back and pick up this huge box of an armoire they never assembled.

The business has responded. Please see below:Roger's Furniture sold and received payment for the purchase of an armoire and carpet for the price of $1000. In order to order furniture for delivery, a deposit or full payment would be customary. Roger's Furniture is a furniture store that sells new unused furniture only. An agreement was made between the customer([redacted]) and the previous manager(Luke) of Roger's Furniture to move the customer's belongings for $1000. in addition to the sale of the armoire and carpet. This was a side deal that was not authorized by the owner of Roger's Furniture, nor was the owner aware of this transaction. The owner of Roger's Furniture is now back to administrating the general practice of Roger's Furniture. Roger's furniture is not in the business of moving personal belongings except for the merchandise that is sold by Roger's Furniture. We cannot confirm or deny the manner in which the personal move by said customer([redacted]) was made. We as a retail furniture store do not have terms or policies regarding mover's insurance, packing, box supplies, mattress covers, etc for personal moving. We at Roger's Furniture have apologized to our Customer, [redacted] and have accepted responsibility for the inconvenience. The Armoire has been assembled and a replacement carpet is in the process of being exchanged. We will be issuing a store credit for a future purchase and include a set of free lamps. Even though we have apologized on the phone to [redacted], Roger's Furniture Inc. would like to publicly apologize to [redacted] for all her troubles and inconveniences and hope that we can continue to provide her the professionalism that she has received in the past. Good customer service is the foundation of a lasting business.

Review: Purchased at Rogers Discount Furniture in [redacted] glass swivel coffee table and two glass swivel end tables. They delivered and assembled them but the glass coffee table screws were to long and when you opened the table the screws left marks and made holes in my newly installed wood floors. I have been in contact with them about this but to no avail. They keep promising that someone will come to look at the floors but they have one excuse after another. This has been going on for a over a year. He said he had someone named [redacted], they gave me his number, I called he never called me back. I had someone to repair my floor for $300.00 but they said that was to much. He said he was going to go to [redacted] and try to find someone, he never did. This has been going on over a year, they have one excuse after another. Would greatly appreciate if I can get this matter resolved.Desired Settlement: Would like Rogers Furniture to stop giving me the run around and have them repair my wood floor.

[redacted] came to my house to look at the floors in April and gave me a telephone number to call a gentleman named [redacted] called numerous times was wrong number. Called [redacted] numerous times to no avail. Their workers always say that he will call back never does.
