Roger's Service Center Reviews (2)

Review: On February 11 2014, I purchased (4) new tires ([redacted]) from Roger's Service Center and had them installed and balanced while I waited. I thought everything was ok until I had my regular oil change and tire rotation at [redacted], 8/7/2014 and a nail was found in the tire. Upon removing the tire to repair the hole, the service man noticed that on the inside of the tire, a small portion of the tire rim had come off and was just inside. I informed him that the tires were recently purchased and he suggested that in his opinion, the tires appeard to be dry rotted and that I should take them back to the store. I called Bob, the store manager the following morning to explain what was discovered and he told me that the type / size of tires that I purchased they do not sell at Roger's Service Center and that dry rot was not something that would be covered by their company. He was short and irritated with me asking questions and said, "OK, Thank You." and hung up the phone.Desired Settlement: I would really like to have replacement tires put on my car. I frequent the establishment for many things and would like to continue to do business with them. I just want to get my money's worth for what I paid for.

Thank you.

August 19, 2014To Whom It May Concern:This letter is in response to a complaint by ID [redacted]. To begin with the customer called me to get pricing on tires. The size of the tires was 225/65R17. I got her a price on two brands. The [redacted] brand was not in stock at that time. Then she started asking questions, as in road hazards and why we didn’t provide that with the price of the tires. We do not warranty the tires. That is done by the manufacturer. If she had stated the real reason for the call from the beginning and been nicer about it I would have asked her to bring the tire in so that I could take a look at it and determine if there was defect with the tire.As per her statement she took her car to [redacted]. They found a nail in the tire and they told her they thought it was dry rot. When we received this complaint I called the customer and asked her to bring the tire in so that I could look at it. She bought the tire in on August 18, 2014. When she bought the tire in it was off the rim.Upon examining the tire, I noticed that the bead was damaged. There was a piece of the bead 5 to 6 inches long that was broken off the bead. The break was so bad that it was down to the steel cords. If the tire was mounted in that manner it would have created a ply separation of the tire. This in turn would have caused a bulge on the tire.Someone had to damage bead on tire other than Roger’s because it would not have run 6 months without a ply separation and bulge occurring in the tire. She demanded four new tires. That is not going to happen. However, to make her happy, we will replace one tire free of charge and will incur the loss of the tire, because this is not warranted by the manufacturer. It is my belief that [redacted] must have damaged the tire when they took it rim and tried to reinstall it.Regards,Mary S[redacted]

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Regards,

Review: My automobile was towed by Roger's Service Center on Sunday, September 8th. When I returned later the morning of September 9th to retrieve the vehicle, it was parked in the back area against a fence. It was still dark outside so I did not immediately notice the damage until later that afternoon after I woke up to run an errand. While sitting in the vehicle, I immediately phoned the company to tell them about the damage and was told to bring the car back. When I arrived I announced myself and a man named [redacted] came to examine the fender which is cracked and hanging. I let him know it wasn't like this when I got out of it but he said his guy told him he didn't damage it. He turned and said it was not his problem and walked away back into the shop. I didn't complain about paying the $200.00 tow fee but you can clearly see the damage. His lack of personal stills is unbelievable. Not one bit of consideration or even apologizing for the inconvenience. Now I have to figure out how to have my vehicle fixed.Desired Settlement: My vehicle is a 2004 and I have no idea what it will take to have it repaired. I need to have the driver side bumper set back in place and to make sure it is safe to drive.

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because when Roger's Service Center accepted my vehicle they assume the responsibility and the obligation to excercise reasonable care to return the automobile in the same condition. That did not occur. A taxi was dispatched at 5:47 a.m. on September 9th to the courthouse. I arrive at their establishment about 7 minutes later. Paid the tow fee and was told to enter the bay doors. I did not see anyone inside. It wasn't until I walked around the right side of the building did I discover by vehicle parked parallel against the chainlinked fence. I had the keys but didn't feel comfortable entering the vehicle until I notified someone because it was still dark outside and they are not located in a great area. It was then when I was in the back of the bay areas that I saw the same driver who towed the vehicle. He was obviously startled to see me come from the back and made a comment about it. I acknowleged him, showed him I paid the tow and left. I heard a rubbing sound coming from the left front area but noticed I was on empty and looked for a gas station. I made it back to [redacted] and waited until it was light outside because I realized had left my phone in the cab. When I went out to leave, I saw the damage to the left front fender and called the tow company immediately. He told me to bring it in and once there the said his driver said he didn't do it.

I just had my vehicle serviced in August and September prior to registration. No damage to my vehicle. Roger's Tow Service assumed responsibility when they were called to tow it. Now the left side bumper is split and cracked and you can see the drivers greasy finger prints along the driver side. All rental car and U-Haul rental companies prepare check list to designate scratches and damage to vehicles prior to release and once again upon return. I have not received any such proof of prior damage before they accepted responsibility from [redacted] Police department.
