We never not answered her call.  Our operating hours are posted on the website. Secondly AT&T had a promotion where the customer will receive $400 in gift cards: $200 for the initial service, $100 for internet service, and $100 for her being upset with us. She initially signed up for...

service at a home and garden show in Cleveland. She had to fill out an order form and in clear writing on the top of the form it states this information will be used for a credit check. I wasn’t actually there when it happened, but she did sign and agree to that letter. She cancelled service before we installed it. I called to see what we did wrong, I spoke to her and told her I can’t do anything about the first check of credit as this is nothing up to AT&T or Direct TV and that it is something she will have to do with the credit reporting bureaus. There is a chance they might remove it if she contacts them. I told her about the second inquiry that would need to be done and after 30-90 days it would be lumped into one inquiry on her credit report since it is by the same company. As far as her gift cards, they are still coming. Customers are made aware that it could take 6-8 weeks to receive them. She called me after one week asking about it. I do help customers as best I can, but she should really reach out to our customer service department that handles these issues on a regular basis. She will be getting all of her gift cards as long as she followed the directions on the website, which I can assume she did since she got the other two.  As much as I feel for her, I understand her frustration, she agreed to the credit check by signing the document. I will still do my best to help her but she will have to give us something reasonable that we can do. I will say we did reach out to the credit bureaus to try to help. We could not get anything done, we tried within every which way, but we cannot control the credit bureaus.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. (Attached: Phone Log, Statement, Letter from Creditor)I have attached documentation that will prove that [redacted] response to the Revdex.com is completely untrue. His response states “we never not answered her calls”.  My phone log which shows that none of my calls were returned after DirectTV was installed on 3/15/18.   When I was considering his offer, he returned calls promptly.  On 3/14/18, I called and left him a message and he returned the call within 7 minutes.  On 3/15/18 he calls immediately back. After that date he does not return my calls/messages I left on 3/17, 3/22, 4/8 and 4/9 or my texts of 3/18, 3/20, 3/21 & 4/10/18.  Nor does he return the messages I left with his office staff on 3/20 or 3/22/18. There is not one return phone call from him on my phone log.I was originally considering having DirectTV installed in my name and discussed this with both [redacted] and another salesperson at the HG Show.  My husband and I explained the reason we MAY want to pursue service in my name was because my husband recently retired from ATT and his discount he was receiving on his DirectTV was changing.  We were uncertain at that time what it would be until we received our next invoice.  They said “if I gave them my info at the show they could put me in their system so that I would not miss out on that show promo they were offering”.  To do this they would set me up for an install date a few weeks later and if I found out we did not want to proceed all we needed to do was to call and cancel that appointment.   We explained very clearly to both of them that we did not want service, but MAY want service.  At no time did I agree to having my credit run.  When I found out that my credit had been run, and another issue with the install date, I called and cancelled service.  [redacted] is now saying that I agreed in writing to have service installed and my credit run.  If he does have this documentation, it was definitely done in a completely shady manner by stating it was “only for me to not miss out on the show promo”.  Important to note that even if I did sign something, he fully agreed to have any hard inquiries removed after that to obtain my business.  In addition to prove that I did not actually want service yet, we were still contracted with DirectTV through my husband’s retiree account.  It would not make sense for us to have 2 accounts with DirectTV and pay 2 bills!A few weeks later I received a call at a later date from [redacted] promising that if I gave him another chance he would personally call and have all hard credit inquiries removed and that he was offering $400 in gift cards. He said they were throwing another promo, where instead of $200 it would now be $300 and he would throw in another $100 due to the issues I had for not proceeding with service for $400 total.  NOTHING ABOUT $100 FOR INTERNET.  My husband and I were both on speaker phone with him and my daughter was in the background listening to our conversations.  Mr. [redacted] did mention he could probably get us an even better deal if we switched our internet service.  My husband who is a former ATT Manager of 30 years explained to him that we could not get Internet at our residence even if we wanted to because we were not in ATT territory for Internet.  Proof again that this is another lie by [redacted].  Why would we expect $100 for internet service we could not get?Further attestation to [redacted] character is when he did not return my call on 3/22/18, I decided to call him from my husband’s phone number a few minutes later.  He immediately answers proving he was purposely was avoiding my calls.  When I told him how completely unprofessional it was for him to avoid my calls, especially for a store manager, he agreed and apologized. I inquired about the status of removing the hard inquiries and he said it was going to take a little longer than he thought, but he would call me within one week to follow up and in the mean time I could always dispute it with the credit bureau on my own.  I also told him I received a $200 gift card, but not the remaining $200. He told me the remaining $200 would automatically sent out within 2 weeks. When I did not receive my promised follow-up call from him, I realized he would never live up to his word.  I decided to dispute the hard inquiries on my own.  I received a notice back from Experian stating that “inquiries are a factual record and to contact the creditor”.  See attached.  I called [redacted] on 4/8/18 and left him a message that “I tried to take care of the hard inquiries on my own.   I was denied and I just needed a letter from him so I could send it back to the credit bureau and it had been over 2 weeks and I still did not receive the additional $200 gift card you said was automatically sent out”.  Again, he did not return my call.  I am attaching a screen shot of the instructions I followed that were given to me by him obtain the gift cards. It only shows $200 and nothing additional. On 4/9/18 I sent him one last text to let him know I would file a complaint with the Revdex.com giving him the opportunity to make it right.  Again, I did not hear from him and was forced to file the complaint. In his response to the Revdex.com, he advises that this is something that should be taken care of with customer service.  This matter is regarding his promises and needs to take care of by him.  For me to try to get through to a customer service rep that works outside the United States and barely speaks English and explain this to them for resolution is outrageous! [redacted] has proven himself to be unprofessional, untruthful and manipulative. His character and morals are questionable due to his actions.  I have supplied all of the documentation to prove this.  If he does not resolve this issue for me I will make sure this complaint is left open as NOT being resolved so that others can read and know what kind of person he is prior to doing business with him.   Also, my husband and I will make sure all of social media is aware of how he conducts business.  To resolve this issue Mr. [redacted] needs to send a letter directly to me on DirectTV letterhead that I can supply to the credit bureau stating that “the hard inquiries were an error and need to be removed”.  He also needs to make sure I am sent the additional $200 gift card that he promised even if he has to get a gift card himself and mail it.
Regards,
[redacted]
