ROI Eligibility Services Corp

Review: I had elective surgery on Nov 1, 2013 at [redacted] Hospital. All fees for elective surgery must be paid for in advance or the surgery will not take place. I paid for the elective surgery on Oct 25, 2013 by credit card. I immediately began receiving telephone messages from ROI stating they can help me resolve my outstanding charges from my Nov 1, 2013 surgery. I ignored the messages because I knew I had paid for the surgery. On Dec 5, 2013 I received a letter from ROI stating that they were retained by [redacted] Hospital to help me resolve outstanding charges from my surgery. I called [redacted] Hospital billing dept. and their message said if this is in reference to a ROI bill/statement to call this number. I called the ROI number I got from the hospital message and spoke with a ROI representative. The representative said that there was no record of me in the system. I gave him the reference number off the letter and was told the company does not use that number combination. I was also told their company is not located in [redacted], MD as the letter stated. We determined that this letter was not from the ROI billing company that the hospital used. So I called the hospital back and spoke with a billing representative. She pulled my record and verified my bill was paid in full on Oct 25, 2013. She asked me to fax the letter and she would turn the matter over to her supervisor. I am still receiving telephone calls from ROI. Last week I received 3 calls in one day. Some of my concerns with this company are:1. They are misrepresenting themselves by stating they are being retained by [redacted] Hospital. 2.They are piggy-backing off a legitimate company by using the same name ROI of a company that is working with the hospital. 3.Aggressively pursuing innocent people trying to scare them by telling them they have outstanding bills at the hospital. 4.Constant harassing telephone calls.Desired Settlement: 1. I want to know how this company learned I was in the hospital. 2. I want them to stop saying they have been "retained" by [redacted] Hospital3. I want them to stop the harassing phone calls4. I want the company shut down for using private/priviledged information to prey on unsuspecting people
