Roland Roofing Reviews (5)

In this complaint process we focused on work that needs to be done by Roland Roofing for the job to be completed Roland Roofing (RR) focused on what he didn’t like we did Below we briefly address his complaints We called a number of times in March and April He didn’t answer or return messages In his Revdex.com response he said he came out in April and walked around with us That is not true Besides once just after the job was done, he first came out July to talk with us (Because of family concerns we didn’t call again until July.) The reason we had a two page list of things that needed to be completed and we had a contractor friend with us was because his lack of response suggested an unwillingness to work with us to complete the job to satisfaction The two page list came from talking with a sales rep for a major window and siding company in the Front Range in February We wanted to be fair and only ask him to finish things that would affect the safety or resale value and that another siding company would consider essential to complete if they were to do the job The two page list got cut to less than half a page because RR came back and repaired some but not things late July, we removed everything from the list that was not critical. The reason we weren’t sure what RR worked on is that the job was to repair hail damage, which included all the metal work but only some of the siding We asked him a number of times to tell us what on the list he didn’t work on so we could remove those items He never clarified that, as he hasn’t in this Revdex.com process To include only things he worked on, without his input, we would have had to know such technical details as whether the J channel around windows and doors needs to be replaced or loosened when some but not all adjacent siding pieces is being replaced and the windows and doors are being rewrapped with metal Homeowners shouldn’t have to know these details in order for a contractor to come out and homeowners concerns about the job It is irrelevant whether our contractor friend was licensed or not We consulted with a major siding and window company before talking with RR They’re the ones who pointed out what needed to be fixed We paid RR the 10% extra allotted for contracting fees He should have acted as contractor for his own work crew, even if we hadn't paid him that extra 10%

*** and another unlicensed contractor that she had come overWe started walking around the property when the unlicensed contractor started pointing out all kind of problems with work done on the house that I didn’t preformAfter about minutes for them pointing thing out that we didn’t work onWe finally got to a couple of issues that we did haveWe went back and fixed her list that was left over and at that time she asked me if I would fix all her other problemsI declined the work because she couldn’t even remember where I worked at on her propertyAs we were doing the job her roof leaked and she said we caused the leak even though she said she had roofing problems their before.Roland Roofing

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:I am only asking that he fix issues that he worked on and welcome hearing which specific items in my complaint he did not work on. I have asked him repeatedly to clarify which items on the list I have given him a number of times (and that I included in this complaint) he didn’t do and he has refused to do so, as he did in his Revdex.com response here. As far as not remembering where he worked on our property, I know he did the siding on the entire north side of the house which includes one of the issues we are asking them to fix (wall to roof corner) but there maybe have been a few trim pieces here or there that he hadn’t done and that may have been one of them. It does not seem to me that I should be responsible for knowing everything single piece of trim work he did. I know he was supposed to do the caulk around the metal because he redid all the metal on the house. I know he did the window wrap by the sunroom door and the trim around the back door. As I said in my complaint, he did come over and fix some things but not all the issues And after hearing him point out what he didn’t do, I removed those items from the list and only left items on that I thought he said he had worked on initially and that he agreed to come back and fix later. Again, he has refused to specify which items we are requesting to be fixed he did not work on. I am not asking him to fix the roof (as is clear in the complaint), so that is irrelevant. It is also not pertinent to our request at hand that a contractor came over. He was a friend of ours and was there only because Roland Roofing had not returned a number of phone calls over a couple months. It is clear that the contractor’s presence and our mentioning the roof made him angry. But the complaint only concerns several items that to the best of our knowledge he was responsible for working on. Regards,*** ***

As I said before when the customer ,unlicensed contractor and I walked around the homeWe went over a or page listAs we were going over her list I stated everything that I didn’t do There was several thing that were corrected over a couple of days time after the meeting with the home owner

In this complaint process we focused on work that needs to be done by Roland Roofing for the job to be completed.   Roland Roofing (RR) focused on what he didn’t like we did.   Below we briefly address his complaints.     We called a number of times in March and April.   He didn’t answer or return messages.   In his Revdex.com response he said he came out in April and walked around with us.   That is not true.   Besides once just after the job was done, he first came out July 20 to talk with us.  (Because of family concerns we didn’t call again until July.)   The reason we had a two page list of things that needed to be completed and we had a contractor friend with us was because his lack of response suggested an unwillingness to work with us to complete the job to satisfaction.    The two page list came from talking with a sales rep for a major window and siding company in the Front Range in February.   We wanted to be fair and only ask him to finish things that would affect the safety or resale value and that another siding company would consider essential to complete if they were to do the job.    The two page list got cut to less than half a page because RR came back and repaired some but not things late July, we removed everything from the list that was not critical. The reason we weren’t sure what RR worked on is that the job was to repair hail damage, which included all the metal work but only some of the siding.      We asked him a number of times to tell us what on the list he didn’t work on so we could remove those items.   He never clarified that, as he hasn’t in this Revdex.com process.    To include only things he worked on, without his input, we would have had to know such technical details as whether the J channel around windows and doors needs to be replaced or loosened when some but not all adjacent siding pieces is being replaced and the windows and doors are being rewrapped with metal.    Homeowners shouldn’t have to know these details in order for a contractor to come out and homeowners concerns about the job.   It is irrelevant whether our contractor friend was licensed or not.   We consulted with a major siding and window company before talking with RR.   They’re the ones who pointed out what needed to be fixed.  We paid RR the 10% extra allotted for contracting fees.  He should have acted as contractor for his own work crew, even if we hadn't paid him that extra 10%.
