[redacted],We are so sorry to hear you are not 100% satisfied with your service experience with Rollup Awnings.  Unfortunately you needed to have your roof redone and decided to have your roofer remove the awning instead of Rollup. Your roofer damaged the brackets. When you called us to reinstall the awning we discovered the damage to your brackets and therefore we needed to charge for replacement brackets. All of which could have been avoided if you called us to remove the awning. That being said we are happy to come to some sort of financial compromise to make this experience and financial burden a little easier for you. Please call the office at your earliest convenience. Thanks so much!Rollup S[redacted] & Awnings, Inc.[redacted]

Review: I purchased an awning in 2011. In 2013, I believe, the motor was not working properly and I called the company. A repairman came out to fix it - it took about 10 minutes. I was asked to pay $175, if I recall correctly. I said that the motor was under warranty and that I should not pay anything. I spoke with someone over the phone at the company, told them I was not going to pay for something under warranty, and left it at that. They were not nice at the time, but the motor was working and I left it alone. I did not hear from them again and figured that they adjusted my account.

Earlier this summer, I noticed that a vinyl decorative strip was peeling off the front of the awning. I called the company and was told to wait until the fall when it would be cooler to work on it and repair it. No mention was made of any past due amount. When I booked an appointment a few weeks ago to have the vinyl strip repaired, I was told that the charge would be over $350, including what I "owed for the previous repair." I explained about the warranty regarding the motor, that I should not pay for something under warranty, but understood that the vinyl strip was not warranted - though it should not have deteriorated after only a few years. I was told that a repair would not be made to the vinyl strip unless I paid in advance. I asked to speak to the owner.

The owner called me - I don't recall his name - Sal Something. "Sal" became irate, yelled at me over the phone that I owed at least $175 for the past repair and that the present repair would be at least $250. He was extraordinarily nasty. I have never received that kind of verbal assault from a business owner. He hung up on me, saying the company would not come to my home to repair the awning.

I paid almost $7000 for the awning. For that kind of money, a company should bend over backward to keep a customer happy - not verbally assault the customer. The motor should have been repaired without charge and the vinyl strip should have been replaced - for perhaps a small charge, if that.Desired Settlement: The company should repair the vinyl strip without charge and adjust my account to show no balance due.

Review: I had an awning reinstalled June 2015 that was purchased June 2014. At that time I paid for 3 brackets that were not used, they used the old ones still in place. For the reinstall they charged me for 4 brackets. I already paid for 3 that were not used and expect a refund of $325.66. I sent them a letter they never answered. I have copies if needed.Desired Settlement: A refund of 325.88.

Review: I purchased an awning from Rollup on 5/**/14. The awning was installed on 6/**/14. The fabric of the awning was bunching in the middle so I called Rollup several times complaining. After ignoring most of my phone messages, Rollup conceded that, in fact, the fabric of the awning did need to be replaced. On 12/*/14, Rollup finally removed the awning from my home and took it away for repair. On 4/*/15, Rollup returned and installed the awning. Following that, I left a message with Rollup stating the awning sounded like it was falling when it was being let out by remote control, and when it was being pulled back in. Joseph T[redacted], my fiancé, left 2 messages indicating that there was a problem with the awning and it sounded as if it was going to fall down. Rollup did not respond to our messages. On 9/*/15, one of the two arms that extend, retract and hold the awning out became disconnected. I, and Joe T[redacted], called Rollup and requested they remove the awning and refund our money. We were told by Rollup that they will not do that as the product is a used product. Rollup said they will replace the awning - but we would prefer they remove and refund as we feel the product is inferior and faulty. We do not wish to have the awning repaired once again only to have it be faulty again. Our fear is that the next incident will cause harm to someoneDesired Settlement: I would like Rollup to remove the awning and refund my money. I do not want the same awning to be repaired for a 2nd time and then returned, only to be faulty again.

Sincerely,

Shame on Rollup Awning! After owning my awning for about 13 years I called to have a seam repaired. I explained one seam needed to be re-stitched or glued. After calling the company approximately 3 times I was told by a very rude representative that they don't service their products after 10 years. I thought perhaps the rep thought I expected this to be covered by a warranty or that I was looking for something for free, which I was not. I explained I understood I would likely need to pay for the service call and/or repair of the seam but I was refused service. The rep told me she would be very happy to sell me another owning for a mere $2800.00! When I asked if this policy was in writing, she has no idea! Extremely poor customer service, cold and ruthless. I would never be a repeat customer or make a recommendation of a company that does not stand by their product long-term.
