[redacted] Attention [redacted] , In response to the customers insults let me say that we have had complaint in the last three years with the Revdex.com If anyone looks up our rating with you they will see that we have a great A+ rating In an industry such as ours that is a rarityIf anyone was to look up most of competitors here on they would see a much different storyFurther more if you read that complaint its from a customer who had a problem years after purchaseTo call us con people is absurd [redacted] was in our store for more then an HOURHe spent that time haggling over the price of a Bedroom set with our sales person and sales managerHe was not in our store for Minutes and purchased somethingHe spent a great deal of time their deciding which set he wanted and making a deal on the Bedroom set he wanted, at a price he wanted to pay The sign on the set that clearly reads Floor Sample is more then a foot tall and is bright yellowAt the time he was in the store we were running a promotion for all floor modelsThis was explained to him at time of purchase and when he started haggling over the priceIt is also clearly printed on his receipt, a receipt he signed, that the set is a Floor Model along with a notice to the buyer That ALL SALES FINAL, NO CANCELLATION, AND NO REFUNDS OR EXCHANGES This policy was also explained when we agreed to the price that [redacted] wanted to payThat is the general idea [redacted] said “ [redacted] ***” and we agreed with the understanding that he his taking the set and that the order can’t be canceledWe are not in the business of wasting everybody’s time with fictional deals Lets go over the nonsense this customer has stated in his letter As far wear and tear, the set was only on our floor for days, so the set is essentially new, there is nothing wrong with the set We never told him we would only take $on his credit card as a deposit on a $bedroom that was going to be delivered in a couple of weeks Especially not after spending this much time with a customerWe would not entertain somebody who wanted a better price and take such a short deposit on a set that we were selling for $That’s the whole pointThe customer wanted a better price and we want to know the set is sold, that customer is leavening a substantial deposit and that he is going to take delivery of the furnitureNot that we will never hear from them again [redacted] even asked if he could leave only $and we told him no it had to be $So for him to say we tricked him is an out right lieNot in an hour but at the end of day, many hours later, the customer came back and told us “ [redacted] ***”We told him we could hold the set for him until he had the money to pay for it or we could offer him some 0% interest free financing to give him the time he needed The mention of anything about the set being a floor sample is an out right lie He was never told he would receive a refund but was told that it clearly states on the receipt (see attached) that ALL SALES FINAL, NO CANCELLATIONS AND NO REFUNDS OR EXCHANGES was the policy Why is this our policy? [redacted] purchased a bedroom that was on our floorAfter his purchase was made a private trucking company is contracted and is routed to our store to wrap his bedroom and bring to warehouse by days endThis is a service we pay for so that the floor model is properly packaged and stored for delivery If any other customer came into our store and wanted the bedroom while it was still on our floor, and they did, we tell them that set is sold and we can’t give it to you as it is reserved for someone elseEven if the customer is willing to pay more for that sample we don’t take it from one customer and give it to anotherWe live up to every end of the deal we have made with the customerIn this case [redacted] doesn’t want to live up to his end In short [redacted] is an adult who came into our store and after sometime and some barging made a deal for a bedroom setHe gave a deposit as required and singed a receipt that clearly states Floor Sample, All Sales Final and No Cancellations He purchase a floor sampleWe wrapped up his set, it is in storage and can be delivered to him whenever he wantsHe simply needs to give us a call, make is final payment and arrange for a delivery day of the items he purchased I would also like to say that we are not in the practice of misleading our customersWe want all of our customers to be happyWe would like to deliver the furniture to [redacted] as soon as possible and make the transaction go as smoothly as possible Thank YouJerryOffice manager

I liked a bedroom set and was willing to pay $ 500.00 as a deposit but was charged $ 2,000.00 without my permission. At no point did anyone from the store notify me that they were selling me the floor model. I checked my receipt within an hour and went back to store to clarify the issue. I met with the store manager Sam and showed my displeasure. The floor model was exactly where I had seen it earlier and not had been moved.  I was told by Sam that there should not be a problem for me to get the refund but he has to get an approval from the owner. Review: In Feb 2011 I purchased a sofa and loveseat that I was told at the time was 100% leather but upon delivery I found out it was leather bonded. I complained at that time to the company for lying as to the quality of the sofa and loveseat. When the furniture was delivered, the loveseat was torn and so it was sent back and a new loveseat sent. When I received the new loveseat, although it looked the same as the sofa, I could tell that the quality of the leather bonding was inferior because it was not as tightly bound and was much softer than the sofa but I just wanted to be done with Roma so I accepted the loveseat. The furniture is not abused and I have kept it covered all of the time unless I have company. After 3 years, the bonded leather on the seat of the loveseat is pitted and peeling. I went back to Roma with the receipt to ask for a replacement or repair and was told by [redacted] that it is no longer under warrantee. I explained to [redacted] that the only way the loveseat would fall apart as it has is because the material on the loveseat was defective. I do not have any problems with the sofa and you can feel the higher quality of the material. I want Roma to be held responsible and either replace the furniture or pay for its repair. They have been dishonest regarding the quality of the furniture from the day I bought it. I have a picture of the damage if needed.Desired Settlement: I want the love seat either replaced or repaired

At this time, I have not been contacted by Roma Furniture regarding complaint ID [redacted]. I would not recommend purchasing furniture from Roma. They have not been honest with the quality of their merchandise and have provide sub standard furniture that did not last more than 3 years.

This is a response to the complaint involving customer [redacted]. Three and a half years ago on February ** of 2001 [redacted] purchased a Sofa and Love Seat Floor Sample as is. She received delivery on 2/**/11 we delivered it, and she signed that it was delivered in good condition. Some time later she called with a problem with the Love Seat we sent somebody by on March [redacted] to inspect the Love Seat and take a photo. On April [redacted] we made an exchange on the love seat despite the fact that she purchased a floor sample and signed it was in good condition when she received it. A few days later she called complaining again and we reached an agreement. On April [redacted] she was refunded $200.00 by check and she agreed to keep the set as is.

About a month ago she stopped in and told us she was having a problem. We explained to her that their is no warranty on the Floor Samples and that their was only a 90 warranty from us on new Items as stated on the receipt. The manufacture extends a 1 year warranty but even this was past. The complaints she is having about the pealing could be caused by cleaners used on the material as well several other things. We don't live in her house so we have no way of knowing what has or hasn't been done to the living room.

In short the customer bought a floor sample as is. The set was marked down in price we even delivered it to her for free. When she complained about the love seat we exchanged it ,when we didn't have to. When she still wasn't happy we gave her $200 back. None of this we had to do but we did to make the customer happy. The set is more then 3 years old, it is now out of Warranty their is nothing further we can do for her at this point.

What Roma failed to mention is that the reason they refunded me $200 is because the salesperson told me the furniture was 100% leather when in fact when it was delivered it was leather bound not 100% leather. The loveseat was replaced because there was a big scratch on it. The replacement loveseat was definitely substandard but I accepted it because I was tired of dealing with Roma and their lying of the furniture being 100% leather and good quality. Since the day I received the furniture, both the loveseat and sofa have been covered with cloth coverings so their assumption of how it was taken care of is incorrect. The reality is that furniture should have more than a life span of 3 years and for them to push the blame on me when they clearly were dishonest about the quality of the furniture from the beginning is unacceptable. If they would send someone to look at the furniture they would see that the quality of the loveseat is inferior to the quality of the sofa and that the peeling that occurred should not have happened on furniture that is only 3 years old. I am single parent taking care of 2 children with [redacted] and do not have the money to replace furniture every 3 years because I had the misfortune of dealing with a dishonest sales person and a company that sole poor quality furniture. I do not accept the response of Roma. What Roma failed to mention is the $200 refund was because their salesman told myself and my Mom that the furniture was 100% leather. When I received the delivery I saw that the furniture was not 100% leather but leather bound. They refunded me the $200 because their salesperson was dishonest in representing their product. The original loveseat that they delivered had a scratch in it but when they replaced it, you could definitely see that although it looked like the sofa it was definitely made of substandard material. I accepted it because by this point I was tired of dealing with Roma and just wanted to move on. The reality here is that furniture should last more than 3 years and the substandard love seat they delivered should not have pitted and peeling the way it did. Roma would like you to believe that I have been negligent with the furniture saying they don't know what I used to clean it that caused the peeling. Both the love seat and sofa have been covered with cloth covers since the day of purchase and all I ever did was dust it with a dry dust cloth. If Roma would send someone, they would see the difference in quality of the love seat as compared to the sofa. I am a single parent of 2 [redacted] children and I don't have the money to replace this furniture, nor did I think that the furniture that I bought in good faith, even though Roma was dishonest by telling me it was 100% leather, would only last 3 years. If Roma does not want to do the right thing, please make sure that other consumers know what I had to go through so they will not purchase their furniture from Roma. Nobody can afford in this economy to just through away money which is what I feel has happened to me.
