Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted] , and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because: [Your Answer Here] This response does not address the underlying concerns and questions in my complaint Rather than addressing explicitly misleading and inaccurate information (which was also admitted by a staff employee on the phone as being systematic in the practice) being provided by physicians "all the time", only to be told later that the information was in fact inaccurate. The response also attempts to diminish the fact that over $was paid out of pocket rather than $which was inaccurately stated by pointing to the 'total bill' for the services provided.George as mentioned in the complaint not following up on his offer to look into the matter also has not been addressed and like the foregoing appears to be standard with this practice. To reiterate, I was not asking to be made whole by waiving/refunding an insurance deductible or co-pay of some kind. Please note that it is my belief that physicians telling patients wrong information (as explicitly mentioned over the phone by an employee) that can cost them hundreds of dollars when it comes to billing, the unwillingness of staff to follow up, and the ways in which staff attempts to point to requests that were never made (waiving/refunding insurance-related matters) as an excuse to not make their patients whole are matters that are not sufficiently addressed (given this response) and are matters that I believe the public should be made aware of In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above Sincerely, [redacted] ***

The patient was seen in our practice and was admittedly aware of the deducible and coinsurance on his insurance policy. He signed multiple consent forms that clearly state:Since each insurance company has its own policies regarding the coverage I acknowledge that payment in full for the charges...

incurred for this procedure is the responsibility of the patient or the individual responsible for the bill, regardless of the coverage provided by the insurance carrier that insures the patient. After payment is made from the insurance carrier, any balance such as co-payments, unmet deductible, or non-coverage altogether, is the responsibility of the patient or his guarantor. There is a clear difference between a service being covered, which it was; and the patients policy having a large deductible and 20% coinsurance. Any patient with a 20% coinsurance and a high deductible health plan should have a reasonable expectation towards paying a percentage for the medical care they receive. Factually, the payment made by the patient represented only 23% of the total costs for the medical care provided; so this out-of-pocket is not large as compared to the total bill for the services that were provided.[redacted] was advised that I would speak to the physician involved and get back to him. I was present with Stacia in the office the day she spoke to [redacted], it was my direction on the matter she was conveying regarding our inability to waive copay and deductible after an insurance carrier has processed and approved our charges and that these were not hidden fees or bills for anything that was not legitimate or consented to in advance.I apologize if that answer did not come fast enough for [redacted], or if it was not clear that I was the one conveying the message through Stacia who one of my direct reports.

This response does not address the underlying concerns and questions in my complaint.  Rather than addressing explicitly misleading and inaccurate information (which was also admitted by a staff employee on the phone as being systematic in the practice) being provided by physicians "all the time", only to be told later that the information was in fact inaccurate. The response also attempts to diminish the fact that over $500 was paid out of pocket rather than $0 which was inaccurately stated by pointing to the 'total bill' for the services provided.George as mentioned in the complaint not following up on his offer to look into the matter also has not been addressed and like the foregoing appears to be standard with this practice. To reiterate, I was not asking to be made whole by waiving/refunding an insurance deductible or co-pay of some kind. Please note that it is my belief that physicians telling patients wrong information (as explicitly mentioned over the phone by an employee) that can cost them hundreds of dollars when it comes to billing, the unwillingness of staff to follow up, and the ways in which staff attempts to point to requests that were never made (waiving/refunding insurance-related matters) as an excuse to not make their patients whole are matters that are not sufficiently addressed (given this response) and are matters that I believe the public should be made aware of.
