CODFUEL,com Removal of Romeo's Fuel From Their Roster as of 1/13/2023
I personally always had good experiences using Romeo's Fuel but am deeply troubled to learn this.

.
Dear Codfuel.com Members,

As you all know, I do not abuse email, nor do I sugar coat anything. I am always transparent with our members.

This is a message to alert you that I had no choice, but to make a decision to remove Romeos Fuel from Codfuel.com. This was a decision made by Codfuel.com and not by Romeos Fuel.

We have added new oil companies to service you as you need us with no waiting. We are also adding more coupons and Price Bashes all the time.

Thank you for your continued use and support of Codfuel.com over the years. This year we are celebrating our 21st year and I am thrilled like I just started yesterday!

Make it a wonderful evening!

Romeo's Fuel is in receipt of the Revdex.com complaint filed by [redacted]. Our company delivered 400 gallons of Premium No. 2 Heating Oil as requested by the customer. In response to the complaint, our company did not add anything to the oil as the customer states. Our belief is the customer allowed...

their tank to get so low that when the new oil was pumped, it pushed up all the sludge from the bottom of the tank. Our truck was checked by [redacted] on February **, 2015 as a result of this complaint. Our truck and oil passed inspection. We provided [redacted] copies of our fuel oil purchase receipts and the [redacted] showing where our oil was purchased and the number of customers delivered to between fill ups on January **, 2015. [redacted] advised us upon passing inspection that if the fuel oil was as the customer stated, we would have had fourtee n (14) other customer complaints. It is Romeo's Fuel's recommendation that if the customer allows the oil tank to get extremely low again in the future, the customer should add prior to delivery, a Fuel Oil Sludge Treatment to disperse the sludge and emulsify water in the tank which will help to eliminate burner breakdown. The treatment will also help avoid breakdown from clogged lines, strainer and nozzles. Had the customer contacted our company, we would have advised them on how to prevent future issues like this. Romeo's Fuel hopes to continue to do business and if there is anything we can do, please contact us.

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

I did not present the company with a paid receipt. I filed a complaint with the Suffolk county department of consumer affairs and provided THEM with a copy of my paid receipt. After the company was contacted by [redacted], they agreed to return my money. [redacted] advised me to follow up with him.

DO NOT use Romeo Fuel for your oil delivery. This is the second time that they have left my gate open and my dog has gotten out of the yard. I live 2 blocks from the LIE service road and it is a miracle that she was not hit by a car. The only thing that the manager would offer me was an apology and said maybe we are not the company for you...well I guess that they are right and they should not be the company for ANYONE.

Review: In August of 2014 I pre-ordered home heating fuel using the cash payment method. When the driver arrived he handed me the pre-printed billing ticket generated from the businesses' office. I paid him in full, in cash. He filled my oil tank and the total number of gallons received was less than what I paid him for. I asked him for a refund for the difference. He told me he could not give me a refund and that I would have a $65.00 credit when I placed my next order.

In January of 2015 I called to order fuel and told them I have a credit. The [redacted] told me they don't give credits, they mail out refund checks. I asked for a [redacted] who at the time was in a meeting. I called back later that day and spoke with the [redacted] who said there was no record of a credit. I told her I had my receipt with my note of what I gave to the driver. She said she would mail me a refund the next day. A week later I received a call from the [redacted] who said their policy with cash transactions is the driver writes amount he received on the receipt and without that proof, he will not return my money. The driver failed to follow the company's "policy" and as a result I was robbed of $65.00.Desired Settlement: Return the $65.00 that is due to me.

Response:

On August **, 2014, Romeo's Fuel was to deliver 180 gallons of Premium No. 2 Heating oil to [redacted]le as ordered. Protocol and procedure for all Cash on Delivery (COD) orders is first the drivers knocks at the door and confirms with the home[redacted] the quantity of fuel to be pumped and the total amount that will be due upon completion. [redacted]'s tank did not take the full 180 gallons as ordered. 160.4 gallons of fuel oil was pumped. Upon completion of pumping the driver requested and collected $527.59 for the 160.4 gallons of oil. It is not our policy to collect more than what is owed. There is no indication written or otherwise on the delivery ticket that [redacted] paid for more oil than was pumped. This was advised to [redacted] when she contacted our office six months after the delivery in question. Should a customer decide to leave the money in an undisclosed location and there is an overpayment, our policy is to I ssue a refund check accordingly. This was not the case. A copy of the delivery ticket can be provided upon request.

Review: On Jan **, 2015 we received a delivery of 400 gallons of fuel oil (from Romero's Fuel) for our home.Within a week after that delivery we have been getting fuel filter clogging (replaced filter 4x). Wecalled in a professional burner person and when he pumped the bottom of thetank it came out thick sludge with an odor of paint thinner or turpentine!!!Our tank is only 12 years old all fiberglass and round, we have never had a problemlike this. We were ripped of! I was told that whatever the stuff they mixedin is not oil and will not burn! I believe not knowing what chemical is in our tank is a health hazard. We have not made any attempt to call this company based on that I was told thereis no way of exactly proving it was their company? We have a 1000 gal tank and didget an oil delivery (with a different oil company) March of last year at which we did not have any problems. There was about 150 gals in the tank prior to their delivery. I would like to have this companys reserves tested to prevent other homes from experiencing the same expensive situation!!!!!! Help-Please advise?Desired Settlement: refund$ the 400 gals of fuel oil cost of $893.40 and they can come and suck thissludge back into their truck!ORHave their company trucks/tanks tested? I was told thatthey may be mixing their fuel after reserve pick up.

Review: On 11-*-15 Romeos fuel delivered 100 gallons of fuel to my home, we pulled up and found the driver from Romeos soaked from head to toe, as well as the complete front part of my house up to the roof and on the roof and walkway up to front door. The driver stated while filling the oil the cap burst off and oil came gushing out of the spout spilling all over. He claimed he cleaned it up with the hose and did the best he could to clean, he seemed very nervous and concerned which made us believe he was going to report this to his company and supervisor. Petro oil came to my house to service boiler a week later and infomed me this is a major spill and to report to DEC, I reported spill to DEC and Fire Marshall, Fire Marshall issued ticket stating that this is a substantial spill that needs to be cleaned up immediately. Romeos is denying everything and is claiming to only have spilled 1/2 gallon of oil which they claim is perfectly legal. They are denying any responsibility and said they will not assist in clean up that we should contact our home owners insurance to have them take care of it.Desired Settlement: Take responsibility for spill and clean up any oil found spilled caused by delivery on 11-*-15
