Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/12/15) */
The issue this customer had claimed is with the drain tubes not what we repaired on a previous service callWe left the Service Order/Invoice and that includes a detailed description of what we did and found on that service call along with the
dateIt specifically says there was an issue with the condensate trap and that we replaced the trap, nothing about drain hoses or any other itemsThe drain trap is a bolt off, bolt on piece that does not require any disconnection of drain hoses from in the furnace as this customer claims to have been our faultOn a phone conversation I asked the customer to send me the invoice/service order that he had received so I could reviewThe customer got the other company to type one up days after the service was performed and emailed it to meI received a computer generated one that said diagnosed furnace problem, replaced circuit board and blower motor on 2nd floor furnace for the repair cost of $I asked what was diagnosed to be the problem and what were the parts that were replacedThe customer then sent me the exact same invoice as before except the company added notes about the drain lines going to the heat exchanger and also added that they also serviced the other furnace and serviced (2) humidifiers and replaced those drain lineAfter stating that this invoice still doesn't have any info on it I told this customer I have made the decision not to pay out anything to himAfter this he sent another invoice from the company with the same numbers on it and changed the notes again and added that they had a hard time getting motor off fan wheelHe also said he will be contacting his lawyer and I have to call the other companyI responded with he has every right to pursue legal action but I will not respond to any emails or requests once that route is takenI also sent a very detailed explanation of the repair we did with pictures to show that the drain trap wouldn't require any hooking or unhooking of the hosesWhen the lawyer threat didn't get the response this customer wanted he then said I needed to call the other companyI felt then and still feel it is unethical to contact a competitors' company to resolve a customer's complaint against usWhen that didn't get the response this customer wanted he said he contacted the Revdex.com and this was the last time he was asking and wanted me to now pay half or he will "pursue other avenues"
The request of $includes service of another of this customer's furnace and (2) humidifiers and replacing the drain lines to themHe sent me the invoice showing thisWe have been in business for 30+ years and we carry an "A+" rating from the Revdex.com and an "A" rating from Angie's ListThese (2) ratings alone show our high level of customer service and this is nothing more than fleecing for monetary gain by this customer
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2015/12/22) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I purchased the home in May they inspected both furnaces and they were operationalthere was water on the floor before I hired Ron's and they had to research what was wrongthey diagnosed the issue to be the trap which the tubes are connected tothe tubes were disconnected when the new contractor Tonka was hiredThe only company in the machine was Ron's prior to Tonka showing upHow would Ron's have tested the furnace after they replaced the trap and called it operationalthose tubes are the exhaust of the furnace which would have went into the houseThe reason Tonka changed the invoice to state the issue is because Ron's wanted me to have the description on the invoiceThere is nothing unethical on calling a contractor to understand what they saw wrongI am a homeowner not a furnace mechanic so to have me accurately state what was the issue in their terms is not fairit was a fair request to have them talk to each otherin my opinion they know they are wrong and want to avoid paying this so are being very difficultPeople make mistakes and the right thing to do is fix what they brokethe invoice Ron's sent was sloppy and hard to read what was even done
