RE: Complaint ID [redacted] Ms***, I am in receipt of your letter dated Friday, January 8, regarding the subject complaint (copy attached)This is our second complaint since we opened in The first one was last year and was found to have no merit [redacted] is the store manager at Ron's Tire & BatteryHe has more than years' experience selling and servicing tires [redacted] remembers the customerOur tire technician, ***, worked on her car [redacted] remembers that the bead seal on the tire broke when he tried to remove it from the rim to patch itThis often happens when the tire is so old on the rim that it dry rotsHe showed her the broken bead seal and she agreed to a replacement tire (we didn't steal her tire)We sell primarily used tires for an average price of $to $each depending on size and amount of tread wearWe only charged her for a patch ($15) even though we replaced her tire [redacted] also remembers there were two tires with TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) valves and two withoutThe replacement tire was mounted, inflated, it held air and the customer paid the patch fee and leftShe returned within a few minutes to complain about her TPMS lightWe told her that two of her tires don't even have TPMS devices in them, and when we looked at it, the light was not lit, so she left the storeEMartin Luther King Blvd., Austin, Texas Tel: (512) 933- As I understand from your letter, she is asking for us to pay for an invoice from Discount Tire which we've never seenShe never returned to our store to ask for that, so we were not aware of any problemFor those who buy our tires we offer a limited warranty which is printed on the back of every receiptA copy of it is attached to this responseOccasionally we get people who come by making claims that we should give them money for one reason or anotherWhen we sell a faulty tire, we make it good by replacing it as our limited warranty statesShe did not give us this opportunityWe try not to sell any tires with sidewall patches by inspecting the inventory when we acquire itHowever it's possible we missed seeing it the first timeIf this customer still has the tire we gave her, and if the tire has a sidewall patch, we will be happy to replace it from our inventory with a tire that has no patches, upon inspectionIf she no longer has the tire and wants us to reimburse her for the Discount Tire expense, we need to see a receipt for the new tires she claims to have purchased from them, as well as the receipt for the $she paid them to replace our tireWe also need to inspect her tires so that we can provide a follow up reportOur technician recalls that her car had two different rims on one side of the car than the other which may have required different tire sizesPlease ask her to call ahead for an appointment to make sure that [redacted] is there to handle it personally, and please let me know if you need more informationSincerely, ?
