When you spend good money on "Lifetime Warranty" windows why are you expected to pay for repairs and/or labor if they are faultyWe had our first window go bad a few years back and had to agree to pay for the glassWe called June to report a bad window, it took them months to replace it and never once mentioned they were going to charge us labor plus the glassThis is totally unacceptable business practice! My $isn't going to affect his bottom line! The guys were here min to install the replacement window and said they had nine other replacement windows to take care of that day! Something is wrong with this pictureWe didn't pick the supplier and if they picked a shoddy one, that should be on them, not the consumer! Please advise what my next step should be! Perhaps if there was a way to contact the other people for their replacement windows, it wouldn't just us complaining! Thank you

The signed contract stating the 50yr warranty on vinyl, hardware & glass was taken from the Gorell warranty – not our warrantyNOWHERE does is state “Ronald W Johnson Construction will also warranty this window for 50 years”Her windows were installed in 2010Gorell went out of business in 2012, therefore she has ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY ON THE WINDOWSWe offer 5 year labor warranty – which hers expired 2015The first service was billed glass only – the second was  glass plus laborThe whole problem here is $50.00 service charge – which she did not pay and that’s fineIn today’s economy, we have more important things to worry about other than $50Hell, there is more important things in the WORLD to worry aboutThis whole route taken because of $50 – just not worth it!

What she has stated is correct.  Did only charge for material the first timeHowever, after review of year-end financial records, it was determined that we could no longer do this work for freeWe are in business to make a profit, not a loss. ( Her husband is in business to make money – sure he...

don’t do his work for free!)I explained to her that our service policy and guarantee (attached) states that after five years, work would be charged and rates are subject to changeShe received the service policy back in 2010. I even faxed it to her in again AugustAs stated clearly in the policy, a $52 per man hour, including travel plus materials will be chargedI had 2 men there for  1 hour – thus the labor charge should have been $102 instead of just $50I even asked her to pay ½ of the $50 and she refused – even that amount don’t cover costsRonald W Johnson Construction has been in business for 54 years – if “poor business” is charging a labor fee, how did it survive for so long?!If she don’t want to pay the labor fee – so be itFuture work will not be done  Ronald W Johnson Construction

Yes, I read it, thank you. But, I hit proceed to comment but it kicked me out. You saw the faxed paperwork from Johnson, am I just stupid or what? The agreement was on their letterhead, signed by there representative, did not mention Gorell in the quoted remarks. Yes, $50 is a lot of money when you are on fixed income. No mention of a five yr warranty on labor. This person whomever is writing this is very unprofessional. If this only gets posted on your webpage, I hope everyone reads it and thinks twice of doing any kind of business with them!Thank you.

Regards,
[redacted]We have a signed contract on Ronald W. Johnson letterhead stating "50 yr warranty on all vinyl, hardware and glass includes glass breakage." This was on Gorell 5100 series windows. Although Gorell went out of business in 2012, we, the customer should have been notified of any change in the contract. When I called on the first window, where the argon leaked, they charged us for the glass. On the second window, they charged us for the glass and for labor. I have paid for the glass, only because I have excellent credit and don't want the business to damage that.J[redacted] rebuttal made a snide remark of my husband having a business to profit, yes, we do. BUT, if a customer returns a trophy because they accidentally broke it, we repair, NO CHARGE. Our business has an excellent reputation for customer service. We go above and beyone.Because Johnsons had been in business for so long, we couldn't see any problem with using them for the windows. Our mistake. I have faxed Revdex.com a copy of the signed contract. Please advise what our next step is. We are also filing a complaint with the Attorney Generals office. Thank you.
