Ronny told me that he would take care of maintaining the pool for 90 days after the resurfacing, but after 30 days stopped maintaining the pool, saying he never does 90 days. 90 days we stated and repeated several times, to the point that I suspended my pool service for 90 days. Upon pointing this out to Ronny, he became very angry and agitated. Hired my pool guy to come back.
All of this was done over the summer while we were out of town, with great assurances from Ronny that this would not be a problem. Frankly, it was a mistake on our part.
At that 30-day point my regular pool company stated that there was so much white muck in the filter that the pump was hardly running. I suspect that Ronny's team never cleaned the filter. Additionally, the salt generator cell was shot from all the muck in it (a $2000 expense to replace).
After all that, I feel the quality of the pool surface is essentially 40-grit sandpaper. The blue glass added to the aggregate is barely visible, and the aggregate itself only shows in a few places, mostly this bottom of the pool is rough and white.
The application of the aggregate is bulky around corners and is raised a good 1/4” to 1/2" above the surface of the tile. Not very pleasing and no warning given that this would be the result.
The "fixed" deck is sinking around the skimmer, requiring me to have the pool leak tested again (no leaks), probably just not compacted well when Pool Patrol redid the deck.
All discussions with Ronny about this problem turned into angry yelling from Ronny and his demanding why we didn't let him know sooner. As he was informed from the beginning we were travelling extensively out of town, followed by two major hurricanes. Our calls to Ronny were at the earliest possible time. But his explosive anger shut down all communications.
It was a mistake to hire Ronny, and we will be paying out of pocket to resurface the pool, again and to fix our sinking deck. I would go to court, but life is so short and the concept of having Ronny's team touch my pool again is not a comfortable solution for me.
I'm sure that Ronny will post a very aggressive response to the post, stating how I am wrong in so many ways, but I suggest you think long and hard before hiring this company for your pool service.
