Ron's Automotive and Towing Reviews (2)

Ron's Towing came to my home to pick up a car I had donated to a charitable organization. The driver backed over the dome to my underground propane tank damaging the fill and relief valve caps causing the tank to be unable to be filled. Didn't even leave a note. I have contacted the company numerous times (phone calls, e-mails, pictures, estimate and fax) since June when the incident happened and each time I get the story the owner is trying to decide whether to turn it in to his insurance company or to pay for it out of pocket. The estimate is approximately $500. I'm turning it over to my insurance company and my attorney. I would not recommend anyone use this company.

Review: They threw my parts away after telling me that they would hold onto them. The Manager & Tow Truck Driver said they would hold onto my parts for my car until I was able to bring it back in (money issues). I was told that they would hold the parts and I would hold onto the screwdriver that belongs to the mechanic. They broke my starter switch while replacing the alternator. As a result I had to start my car with a screwdriver because they removed the casing around the steering column.Desired Settlement: Due to Ron's breaking the starter switch and removing and throwing away my parts after giving me their word they were going to hold onto them at their suggestion, I would like for them to replace the starter switch and the casing that surrounds the steering column.

Response:

I spoke with [redacted] from the company. She stated the customer came in in August to have her alternator fixed. They did that service and then in October the customer came back in to check over the vehicle since it had a dead battery. The ignition switch was stuck in auxiliary because the customer was using a screwdriver to start the vehicle. The casing was off of the vehicle when it came in. The company gave the customer a price to repair the vehicle and the customer came to pick up the vehicle on November 12. She stated at that time she would need time to get the money and be back later to have the vehicle fixed. She asked them at that time to keep the parts until she came back. They held the parts for the customer however after several (3-6) months the customer never came back to have the vehicle repaired therefore they disposed of the parts.
