Ridgeback Basement Systems installed a full perimeter water management system at the location of Everette Street, Dartmouth in May for the value of $***(plus HST)Ridgeback's design specialist built a system to manage the ground water
seepage based on the information provided during the point and time of the consultationUnfortunately the home owner had water infiltrate his basement and damaged some floorThis was due to the large amount of water that was not draining away from the outside of the home/property outside our scope of workRidgeback never took responsibility for this but felt bad for the homeowner and decided to help with monetary support and gave the homeowner $*** (cheques can be provided as homeowner states different amount) to replace damaged flooringThe value provided was above and beyond the amount damaged; however, Ridgeback wanted to avoid any negativity and decided to support the homeownerShortly after, Ridgeback was contacted by the homeowners insurance agency making claims we were responsible for damages of over $***Upon investigation, these claims were dismissedAt no cost to the homeowner, Ridgeback installed additional pumping systems to help support the original install and then made recommendations to the homeowner that has to be undertaken in order to secure our system works and to avoid a future incidentThe homeowner reached out (February, 2017) to say he ended up with water infiltration once moreRidgeback instantly deployed a service crew to realize that our guidance on outside drainage was not followedThe homeowner was disappointed and was looking to receive a refund for our original installGeneral Manager, *** with Ridgeback Basement Systems reviewed the situation and confirmed an acceptable resolution with homeowner ***A "Full and Final Release" was drafted by Ridgeback's lawyer between the homeowner *** (Releasor) and Ridgeback Basement Systems (Releasee)This release outlines that Releasor *** cannot make any claims or take any proceeding against Ridgeback with respect to the subject matter outlined above (a copy can be shared upon request)
Ridgeback went above and beyond for this homeownerMost recently Ridgeback returned half of the value on the original install and left approximately **% of the product still with the homeownerRidgeback has settled with the homeowner and has been legally released from all homeowner claims and this situationRidgeback considers this complaint already resolvedSince *** (Releaser) has broken the terms of settlement, Ridgeback now has legal grounds for a lawsuit based on the conditions of our "Full and Final Release"

This is my response to Ridgeback, and its within the day periodThe long and short of my issue is that Ridgeback guaranteed me a dry basement in writing, and they didn't provide me with thatIt's not my problem that they still have some equipment underground, I should have the balance back of the money that I paid them in good faith, less the *** from the first floodTheir are laws to protect consumers, and if Ridgeback does not want to do the decent thing and return the rest of my original cost, I'll pursue those
