Out of Town Fix
Passing through Jackson, OH to visit family in Cincinnati our Toyota Highlander lost oil and was able to limp into Ron's Garage from a recommendation from a local resident. The team at Ron's could not have been more professional and willing to help out. They diagnosed the problem quickly, ordered the part ( had to ship it in due to the uniqueness of the part ) helped us with securing a rental car and within the next day were able to get the part replaced and back on the road. The cost was beyond reasonable and thought I got great service, value and over all friendliness from the team

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.]The attached statement from the mechanic at Pickletown Garage and Wrecker in Jackson Ohio fully supports my complaint regarding the cable being defective and super-glued together.

It was the end that attached to the steering and there was clearly gobs and gobs of glue. This part was new and not broken when you towed the vehicle to your shop. You did try to replace the cable as you called me and told me that I needed a new transmission because the cable did not fit. Please own up to your error and refund the amount I am asking for. When Ron's Garage picked up the vehicle, the shifting cable was not installed. They took everything apart and installed the cable. When they put it all back together, they did not install 2 of the bolts (they were left in the pan loose). They also called and told me that I would need a new transmission as this was the problem and the cost would be about $600.00. This is why I asked them not to do anything. The issue was not with the transmission. If they claim that they did not do anything, then why did they charge for labor in the amount of $137.50 and a transmission filter for $16.38? There was a new transmission filter included with the cable and they bought their own? Since they claim that they did not do anything to the truck, I would like a refund for the labor they claim they di not do and charged me for, the transmission filter, and the return tow charge for a total of $228.88.Regards,[redacted]
