When discussing the issue of my Riding Mower not being able to start, the option for replacing the motor was never made. [redacted] initially said that the motor would not start, he believed was because of one of three sensors, common to this Brand of Mower. That he expected to have it repaired and back to me in a very short time, once the cold weather cleared. The only other work expected was the tune up to be made, with a Oil a & Filter Kit I previously purchased and left for him. The work he accomplished was not authorized and permission to breaking the carburetor down three or four times was not given. I would have been willing to discuss replacement of the $250.00 carburetor before $655.00 of tinkering with a clogged one. More so, the damage made by the mechanic that now would include a new gas tank, a replacement carburetor, hood & bumper parts adding up to more than $500.00. For the mechanic to charge $650.00 and return back to me a mower that still would not run and is estimated to be worth around $500.00 if in good operating condition, was simply not good business. I was never led to believe that I should replace a motor or seek a second opinion..... To me, it was pay or leave my equipment behind and add expense by a court action. I am still in disbelief that I paid so much for so little. I replaced the carburetor myself, the motor runs good. I still have to order a fuel tank and dissemble nearly the entire frame to replace it. I replaced the lower part of the frame, the upper still needs to be replaced. The cost for repairs that were not initially there, now out weigh the units value. I don't expect anything more from this dispute than an acceptance of responsibility. The damage is and was done, I've paid the price, the relationship with the business is officially over and I would advise anyone and everyone to beware of the business practices made so unprofessionally by Ron and his Shop,. It's certainly discerning for the lack of conscience that was given to the client for inflated expenses and an unsatisfactory render of services..................
