I own a Construction Co. I purchased twenty nine squares from Roofing N More on July 25. I paid an independent driver to deliver the materials to the job site. Within a couple of hours my lead roofer called me & told me the shingles were to bad to use. So I called Tariq *** who is the boss & the person that I dealt with. At that time he explained that those were second hand shingles. I had no clue until that very moment, they were considered second hand. So he informed that he could sell me 1st hand shingles for $6 more a square. Well that upset me, because I would have bought those to begin with, had I known. So I was able to get the delivery driver to help out. However, I had to go back and pay full price for the new shingles, because Tariq wouldn’t let us have the shingles until I drove there & paid for them. He said he would make things right since I was a new customer. Well, he didn’t! My guys thought they had only opened 3 squares of shingles, so Tariq said he would buy them all back. But when the driver brought them back we had opened 7 squares, trying to find good shingles to use. Not only did he not give me credit for the 7 squares of unusable shingles. He didn’t even pay for the 3 that he agreed too that we thought was opened. He charged me for 7 squares, even though we brought them back to him, to show how bad they were. Original price for shingles was 29x$59=$1711. So he charged me $413 for unusable materials. He then gave me $300, which is what I had to pay the delivery driver. So at the end of the day I paid an extra $413 for the unusable shingles, an extra $174 for the new shingles, which were not the same manufacturer, so my guys had to take all of those back off the roof. And pay them an extra $195, because they had installed, them had to take them back off. So the bottom line line I had to pay $413+174+195 = $782, because he sold me bad materials & didn’t stand behind his products.
This customer came to purchase shingles from our store and was fully aware that the shingles were "Second Grade Material" meaning that they are discounted because they do not have warranty and could possibly be defected. We offered him "First grade Material" meaning it has factory warranty and no defects but he wanted to save money despite knowing that they could be defected. Unfortunately, some of the shingles he bought were defected which can be expected when you don't buy first grade material. This customer was fully aware of the situation and what grade material he bought. He was just trying to save money and put shingles on his customers roof which had no warranty and are possibly defected. On all of our invoices (and his) it states that the material is second grade "sold as is" with no warranty! He is now upset because he was trying to cheat the customer and save money which we are not a fault for. And the pictures from the front of the building shows the materials and and im sure if anyone want to buy shingles and he find it covered with paint to hide the brand (the factory paint them ) you will know its second not brand new and he’s invoice shows the brand name on first order before he come back and switch it to Owens Corning 1st.Thanks Tariq

I am rejecting this response because:
I certainly wouldn’t buy defective materials for only $6 a square less. With that being said, how can a company sell defective materials, then charge the customer for them? They are crooks! They charged me full price for defective materials. I had no ideal they were second hand. I would have never bought them. I only asked for my money back on the defective shingles.
