In November of 2008 this company put a new roof on the front of my house. I discovered they did not replace any of the cracked wood underneath the roof. Over the last few years the shingles have started coming loose and there are visible sunken spots on the roof. They did not put metal around the chimney and those shingles have come up resulting in the possibility of leaking. I have contacted the owner of the company, Dennis ***, on two separate occasions and he promised to come out and look at it both times but has never showed up.
The roof in question was installed in January of 2009 with a 3 year labor warranty, which expired in January of 2012, almost 6 years ago.
We have had multiple severe weather events in the area over the past 9 years that could explain shingles lifting.
As for installing over bad decking, I'll just disagree with that statement. Sunken spots are generally caused by settling of the home.
The customer was not charged for chimney flashing, he is correct, it was not replaced.
As stated in the first sentence, this roof has been out of it's warranty period for almost 6 years. We can come and look at it and try to decipher what the issue is, but we will not be replacing it for free.
My complaint is by no means resolved. This company basically came back and said they will not back up the warranty for defective workmanship and materials so I am left with a defective roof that needs to be replaced and they refuse to do it. I want to make sure no one else uses them and ends up in the same situation as I have. Thanks.
