Roofing Solutions Reviews (4)

Review: Job was not done according to plan. Gable end of porch roof does not match existing structure. Slider door was installed with no header and was installed crooked. Rear door is not level. Chimney crown was done incorrectly and cap was not replaced. One window in garage was installed incorrectly and does not match height of other windows. Window trim on three garage windows is scratch and marked. Installer reused existing moldy plywood and T111 from existing structure in four places. Work was not completed by October 12, 2013. Crew stopped showing up after I gave the owner a second payment of $2,245.00 on October 17, 2013. November 14 was sent a new invoice for $5,335.00 to finish. Told owner not to come back after one month of no-shows and no returned calls. Owner does not answer phone or return calls. Received call from roofing solutions on December 3 asking for more money (1900.00). I want a refund of my $4305.00 plus $3000.00 to repair everything that Roofing Solutions has done wrong.Desired Settlement: I want a refund of my $4305.00 plus $3000.00 to repair everything that Roofing Solutions has done wrong.

I am rejecting this response because:

Review: The quality, duration, and completion of job have not been as described in contract or website.

Signed contract on 6/4/13 for new siding and new

skirting. The contract stated work was to begin 6/17 and was to be completed within two weeks. Work did not begin until 6/28, partially because Roofing Solutions had not ordered the siding until 6/21. They stopped work on 7/12 while a rotted rim joist was replaced by another contractor. The joist was replaced on 7/17 and Roofing Solutions was notified. Following nearly two weeks of almost daily promises to return, they

finally showed up on 7/29 and worked less than a full week. The following Monday, 8/5, noone shows and as is the norm whilst dealing with this company there was no call informing us not to expect them. That afternoon my wife calls and is told that the skirting has to arrive before they

return and that the skirting should have already arrived. Ya think? I would have thought two months would have been ample time for them to get their act together and have the needed supplies on hand for when they would become necessary. Especially considering the same thing happened with the siding. After all these are supplies which were required as part of the original contract signed 2 months prior. It's not as if this is a new change to the contract. It is now

8/11 and we have not seen the contractor for over a week. The job that was supposed to have been completed within 2 weeks of work start has now exceeded two months. I've got an unfinished siding job, piles of trash and debris strewn all over the yard that my two year old used to be able to play in, and a crawlspace that has been open to the elements and local wildlife since the day Roofing Solutions arrived. I feel that I have been more than patient and considering the

courtesy that has been shown to me and my family I have little remorse for filing this complaint.Desired Settlement: I want the trash piles and debris scattered all over my lawn to vanish so my family and I can safely walk around in our yard, and I'd like the job I contracted for to be completed to my satisfaction in a professional and timely manner.

Response:

Since filing the initial complaint Roofing solutions returned for one day. They took away some of the trash and partially assembled the skirting. The job is still incomplete. I've also had the building inspector come by since that time and he noted a few minor discrepancies and two major, one of which involves how they covered the electrical cable with soffit. This apparently is a major code violation. The inspector will not sign off on the job until these problems are fixed. I have not been contacted since the day they returned which was over a week ago. Roofing solutions has been made aware of the problems found during the inspections but as of yet they have yet to be corrected. I've paid out over 6k so far and have had two other contractors out to the house to give estimates on repairing the most serious deficiencies and the lowest estimate that I received to correct those problems was $2700. That quote does not include aspects of the job that have not been completed. I have lost all confidence in this company taking care of the job on their own and I don't know what other avenues I have available to me aside from a court mandated one.
