I do have to state in the beginning that we have been happy with the job that they did do, but they did not put the leafless gutters, at least the top part on our gutters and I know that we requested this It was a big deal for us and I guess it’s partly our fault too because we did not read the fine print where the guy put just regular gutters. So we have been trying to get a hold of our sales person But he never returns our calls and now the office just cuts us off before they even answer our phone call. I’m surprised because they seemed so legit in the beginning but this is not professional behavior! All we need is for someone to get back with us or actually answer our call so we can figure this out, it’s not hard.

Poor customer service
I was impressed with the work crew and the work they did on my neighbors double wide mobile home. They had a sign in their yard, so I called Rooftek. Tyler J. came to our house on March 12, and sat down with us to work out the condition of my roof and the money end. The finance company they dealt with was having a promo of 0% interest, so I went with them as well.

I really wanted the workmanship that was evident on the neighbor's home. I live in a retirement community, and people keep their homes in good repair.

Rooftek has a couple reward programs for rebates, and I wanted to participate in those programs. Having a sign in your yard for 30 days would get you a rebate of $100 for 30 days, and additional $50 for 60 days. There is also a reward for referrals of $250. I asked Tyler to leave a sign, he said he would when he left, but he didn't leave one. The following day I called his number to request a sign, and I received no return call, or text. I asked about scheduling the job. He assured me he gave my information to Jessi, the project manager, he would let me know when the job would be scheduled. I asked for Jessi's information, phone number, etc, and was ignored. I called Tyler the next day and left a message that he had forgotten to leave a sign, and I still had no ballpark when I would be scheduled.

Monday, March 15, I texted him about the scheduling and if he knew when my first payment would be due. He responding, via text, explained how the finance co. would contact me, and said I'd get a call from Jesssie when the materials had been ordered and he knew the schedule. I asked for Jessie's number, no response.

Monday March 22 I called and left more voice mails, and called the office and spoke to Jessie (not the project manager) regarding scheduling. Tyler texted me later that day letting me know they were ready to go forward and to schedule with me. However, that was the last I heard.

I contacted him on March 25 asking him about scheduling and (again) regarding a yard sign. At every interaction, I asked for a yard sign. I even asked the office for a yard sign. All of those calls or texts were not returned. They DO NOT honor their rewards program. I started to wonder what else they wouldn't honor.

I was told they didn't have a date, but scheduling would be about 2 weeks out. He assured me he would stop by and plant a sign in our yard so we could get the credit for it, and that it would be a few more days to get a date for an install.

On Monday March 29, I asked him, by text, to call or have the office call me. The finance company had called about my first payment, but my work hadn't even been scheduled. He said he would be in the office in the morning, and would call me, which he didn't do.

In the beginning of April, Abby in the office, called to let me know the work crew would be here the next day, a Friday, or Monday for sure. No one called me to let me know they wouldn't be here on Friday, so I waited for nothing.

My roof was finished by April 6. I feel very lucky after reading some of the reviews that it was completed so quickly. My neighbor waited 4 months. The time it took to get to the roof was not the problem. The problem was the lack of communication, the unreturned or unanswered calls, misdirected answers, and simply keeping us in the loop.

The work was finally finished and I was sent an invoice from the office with a total cost on April 6. Subtracting the amount I financed, I had $500 left owing. Abby contacted me by telephone the next morning, and said that was the wrong invoice, it should have been sent to the finance company, and that I owed 15 hund...oh no no no. I asked for an accounting how I would owe an additional $500 on top of my original agreement of $1000 cash. I emailed her a lot. I wanted an accounting how I owed this money. In writing. The job cost hadn't changed, I had the financing, I had the remaining cash, but I needed something verifiable and accountable for the additional $500. She promised a couple times, "I'll get back to you tomorrow" "I'll get back to you by the end of the day." She would get the sales manager on the phone in 15 minutes. Those things never happened.

April 15th I texted Tyler to see if he could get someone to email me and let me know what was going on. He informed me he hadn't run into this problem before and he would contact the finance company. According to him, the finance company dealer/service fees of $500, and the finance had kept $1500. That still didn't balance out. I had been in contact with the finance company every single time I talked to Rooftek about the money remained owing, and they assured me, at least 8 times, a couple times twice a day, that the amount of the funds sent to them was accurate. That was my last contact from Tyler until yesterday April 23.

Tyler contacted me again, again saying we owed $1500. I, again, contacted the finance company, asking for additional verification from them for the amount they sent to Rooftek. She said she couldn't do that because that transaction would be separate, between the dealer (Rooftek) and the finance company. Rooftek would have to work with them. FINALLY! Someone finally said, what I thought should be the case. This wasn't any of my business, but their's and I owe nothing beyond what I agreed to.

Tyler called me yesterday morning to tell me my part was in fact, $1500. My husband called Tyler and told him he wasn't paying Rooftek a dollar more than agreed. There was no additional charges to the job or the agreement we signed. Rooftek needed to contact the people who owe them, not us. I followed up with an email to the office. That night, we received a text from Tyler that the matter was resolved and we are paid in full.

I am giving a two star rating, only because the work is good. I am wondering at this time, if my warranty would be needed will they be there and respond? I had numerous requests for accounting, returned calls, verification and those requests were ignored. I was not kept up to date, and had to make several calls and texts to be kept up to date, which was was difficult at best. The customer service is below par and very slow and nonresponsive. I know this was a small job, compared to their usual contracts, but I believe I deserved some customer service, at the appropriate time.

I still don't have a sign. I don't want a sign. I would not recommend them anyway.

We just had RoofTek do our multi-gabled & multi-pitched roof last week. They did a great job & we’re in constant contact with us throughout the project. From the salesman following-up throughout to the site supervisor doing a post inspection with us. They had nets & barriers protecting the areas of our house where they were directly working & throwing heavier waste off the roof into their trailer.
Of course they were throwing things off the roof around the entire house but that’s to be expected when you’re getting your roof replaced. But every day they went around & manually picked up everything then sweeped the ground with a leaf sucker to pick up any smaller pieces & nails.
We had a portion (about 20%) of our roof replaced a few years ago due to wind damage & the roofers then did more damage to our yard than RoofTek who just replaced the whole thing.
We’re having a wedding reception at our house in a few weeks & I appreciate that the roof looks fantastic & so does our yard.

Failed to show up for the appointment they made. Failed to call letting us know they wouldn't make it. Failed to call to reschedule.
Their name came up on an Angie's List of roofers. I hadnt heard of them. They called and made the appointment. Now, after looking them up to try to reschedule at least a visit to hear what they had to say, I find on their own website all these negative reviews. Glad they stiffed us in the beginning. Saved us a lot of trouble with them later.
Revdex.com must just sell businesses the Revdex.com stamp but dont really verify the company. Guess I can cross the credibility of their accreditation off my list.

RoofTek Response • Apr 22, 2020

We are sorry we could not prove our mettle with an in-person appointment with you. Many companies have negative reviews and we appreciate them because they give us a chance to improve. In this case, we can't reach out in any other way than this. Seeing as it is unusual for us to miss an appointment I would really appreciate an email with who you were supposed to be meeting with so we can train this issue away for other inquiring customers like yourself. We hope you have a great day and stay well during this crazy time!

I am stunned that the Revdex.com continues to give this company an A+ rating. I have reviewed the Revdex.com website pertaining to RoofTek and note only one review, which is negative, and a complaint from 2018 which still appears to be unresolved. The A+ rating is misleading and entirely undeserved.
I contacted RoofTek in the Spring of 2019 for a quote for a roof replacement on my 27 year old home. I had contacted numerous roofing contractors who had come to my home and gave me quotes covering a broad range of potential expense. The RoofTek sales representative first came and met with me on April 3, 2019. As soon as I answered the door he told me that he thought that my roof showed signs of hail damage. We had indeed experienced a severe hail storm on June 18, 2018. RoofTek was not the first contractor to suggest that they thought we had suffered hail damage and I learned that several other homes in the neighborhood had their roofs replaced as a result of the storm.
At the beginning, we were impressed with the online reviews for RoofTek and the Revdex.com A+ rating. The sales representative kept emphasizing that they were professionals and had replaced several hundred roofs which had been damaged in the 2018 hail storm. My husband and I have spent the past 27 years improving our home and developing an extensive landscape around our home. We were very concerned about such a major renovation and expressed our concern that we did not want any damage to our home or landscape as a result of a roof replacement. The sales representative reassured us numerous times that RoofTek would take the time and extra effort to ensure that our property was protected and damage would be absolutely minimized. The sales representative stated that the re-roofing would take at least 4-5 days due to the steep structure and complex ridges and valleys and, again, assured us that our roof and landscape would receive the greatest care and expertise to install a professional roof and no damage. A claim was made through our homeowner’s insurance which was approved and we thereafter contracted with RoofTek to install our roof.
The sales representative also wanted to install new rain gutters stating that they also appeared to have been damaged by the hail. My husband pointed out that the damage to the gutters, which had been previously repaired, had been the result of ice dams which had occurred several years before. Nevertheless, the sales representative continued to maintain the gutter damage was the result of hail and attempted to convince the insurance inspector/adjuster of that fact. The insurance only approved the roof replacement. They never approved gutter replacement. We advised the sales representative that we only wanted the roof replaced and not the gutters.
We had emphasized that we wanted to complete the roof installation before the end of May when we would be planting our annuals and completing our gardens. Because the sales representative had estimated 4 -5 days for completion of the job, RoofTek kept putting us off on a firm date claiming they needed a 5 day window of good weather. When they gave us a date in mid-July, we told them that was not acceptable. We were continually communicating with the sale representative trying to get a reasonable, firm date. Then on the morning of June 17, we were contacted by RoofTek and advised that they were dropping off a dumpster and supplies that day and that a crew would be there the following morning to install the roof. Although we were caught off guard by the short lead time, we were excited to get the job done. Again, we were reassured that the workers would take special care to make sure that our landscape was protected and damage minimalized. By then, we had spent several hundreds of dollars and hours on annuals and plantings for our gardens. The dumpster was placed close up to our garage. The man who delivered the dumpster confirmed that the placement of the dumpster was so the workers could walk the discarded shingles and materials across the roof, over to the garage and drop them into the dumpster below.
On June 18, at approximately 7:30 a.m., a van with 10 – 12 workers pulled up to our home and unloaded. It was more than obvious that the workers were not very experienced and none of them spoke a word of English. They were all wearing brand new bright green “RoofTek” tee-shirts (you could still see the creases from where they had been folded and stacked before being given to the workers). My husband jokingly commented that it looked like a ragtag bunch of unskilled day workers that had been picked up out front of the Home Depot (little did I realize how prophetic that observation and statement were). My husband left for work and I spoke with the worker that appeared to be in charge. He spoke broken English and it was very difficult to understand him, and I am sure he did not understand me either. I emphasized to him that our landscape had to be protected and he motioned to some tarps which I assumed would be used to protect my home and landscape from stray debris. I left for work assuming RoofTek were professionals and would respect our home and landscape.
I came home from work four hours later and was totally shocked to find what looked like an apocalyptic war zone. The project manager was there and even he could not believe what he saw. Trash was everywhere; boxes, shingles, tarps partially covering the bushes along the perimeter of the roof line in the front. A large tree on the south side of the house had a large branch (2-3 in. diameter and 8 ft. long) broken off and just tossed aside on the lawn. Rain gutters had been ripped off the house and were strewn all about the yard; several sections were bent and still hanging from the roof. A large section of gutter had been ripped off and was dangling from a weeping cherry tree in the front yard. Several of our landscape flood lights were broken and laying on the ground. The drip irrigation system in the gardens surrounding the home were ripped up and numerous outlets were destroyed. Tar was splattered everywhere; up against the doors, exterior walls, decking and railings. Large gouges had been taken out of my Trex decking from their ladders. I watched one of the workers drag the ladder down from the second story of our home and just let it slam onto the Trex railings we had just installed the previous fall. Another section of railing on the deck outside our master bedroom had a large (1 – 2 in. diameter) hole in it (presumably from someone standing or dropping a heavy object on it). Water bottles, food wrappers, pieces of foam, tar paper, shingles, nails, staples and other assorted construction debris were strewn all over our lawn. Several sheets of wafer-board (full and partial) were laying on our lawn at various locations.
My husband stopped by about the same time to check up on the progress and was equally shocked and horrified with the condition of our property. We observed workers throwing shingles, tar paper and underlayment from the original roof off in 360 degrees around our home.
From a height of two stories the discarded materials tumbled into our bushes, trees, flower beds and gardens with absolutely no effort to protect them. Large bushes and trees we had nursed and tended for several years to attain full growth and height were crushed and totally decimated from the fall of debris. The workers would then trample through the gardens and perimeter landscape collecting the discarded materials for disposal in the dumpster in the driveway. Not one of our annuals we had planted survived this assault. Interestingly, we had previously watched actual professional roofing crews tearing off the roofs of several of our neighbor’s homes. They would work together with part of the crew on the roof scraping off the old shingles and underlayment with other crew members on the ground having created a chute out of tarps to toss the waste down off the roof protecting the home and the landscape. We expected nothing less.
I left to go back to work and came home about 4:00 p.m. I was in total shock with the continued blatant destruction of my yard. Everywhere something had been laid on the lawn was now scorched and turning yellow from the heat of the day. A flood light under the eaves had been shattered in the socket with the glass from the bulb scattered among the bushes. The head roofer told me they would be finished that day. Again, I was shocked in light of the earlier representation that this was a 4 – 5 day project. At almost ten o’clock, in the dark, the workers were still there. The shed and the gazebo were still not completed so the head roofer stated that he would be back in the morning to finish up. I watched while one of the workers used a powerful blower to blow all of the debris including paper, nails, shingle pieces, and other trash off our sidewalks, decks and driveway into the bushes and onto the lawn. By then, it was completely dark and they were working in the light of our home illumination and what landscape lights were still working. When the workers finally left, they left all of their tools, compressors, nail guns, and other equipment strewn all over our yard. Although the sales representative had stated that the crew would use a magnetic device to pick up all of the metallic debris, they never did. Nails, screws, staples, pieces of flashing and other metals remain scattered throughout our lawn and in our gardens. The first couple of times my husband mowed the lawn after this debacle you could hear all of the metallic debris clattering around under the mower deck and exploding out the discharge shoot as deadly projectiles.
The next day only a handful of workers came to finish up the gazebo and shed. I again met with the project manager and explained my distress and unhappiness about what had taken place and the total disregard for my home and property. He was also clearly exasperated and didn’t have any satisfactory explanation, but started to pick up big pieces of material on the lawn lifting them to the side walk knowing the grass was going to die everywhere it covered the lawn. By then, it was obvious that several large sections of the lawn were severely damaged and remained yellow/brown for most of the summer. The crew mostly finished up the shed and gazebo on the second day but had run out of the ridge cap material and came back the following day for an hour or so to finish that up. Because the crews had totally destroyed the rain gutters, RoofTek would have to install new gutters and heat cables a “couple of weeks later“.
There was absolutely no follow-up or contact from RoofTek for several weeks. At this point, I assume that they were very well aware that we were totally disgusted with their incompetence and amateurish work product. However, I would think that a true professional company would do everything they could to try and satisfy the customer. Unfortunately, the delays and avoidance continued. We made numerous calls to the project manager, sales representative and even the general number of RoofTek without so much as the courtesy of a return call. Considering the delay, my husband took the opportunity to paint the areas where the rain gutters had been ripped off the fascia boards. Getting up close to do the painting my husband soon discovered numerous defects in the roof and drip edges and was better able to appreciate what a pathetic job had been done. The drip edges had not been properly installed and were not secured. In several locations the drip edge and the shingles were lifting creating large spaces between the roof and the underlying sub-roof. At the corners the drip edge was very poorly fitted, dented and bent at odd angles. In other areas, pieces of the drip edge were now dangling out and unconnected to anything. Several of the valleys had not been properly installed leaving large gaps at the eaves. The roof around three skylights had not been properly finished. Undoubtedly the most glaring and amateurish problem was where several sections of flashing were installed along the siding/roof intersection. The flashing looked like it had been installed by a third grader. It looked absolutely ridiculous. Were it not so pathetic, it would have been laughable; it made me cry to look at it.
When my husband was finally able to communicate with someone from RoofTek, he arranged to have them come out to the property escorted them on a tour to see the shoddy, unprofessional roof installation. Both the sales representative and the repair specialist sent out by RoofTek agreed that the installation was substandard and that there were numerous areas that required additional work before gutter could be installed.
Eventually, the last week of July a crew returned, being supervised by someone who I presume had at least some minimal expertise in addressing the issues and repaired the defects noted by my husband. Next, we were to get the gutters installed. Once again, delay, delay and more delay. RoofTek sent their “in house gutter specialist” who took more than two months from start to finish to install our rain gutters. The “gutter specialist” worked alone and would show up and work for a few hours and then disappear. My husband was continually calling him and the RoofTek contact to try and find out when the “gutter specialist” would be returning. One excuse after another. TWO MONTHS!!!
Now, the project is finally completed. Without question, this has been the most infuriating experience of my entire life. What is most frustrating is that organizations such as the Revdex.com give such a grossly incompetent, unprofessional company an A+ rating. People who rely on such ratings are truly deceived. I was. Such rating organizations are every bit as much a part of the problem as the company itself. Take this opportunity to fix that.

RoofTek Response • Mar 12, 2020

Debbie,
Thank you for your feedback as a whole. We have sent this to every individual in the company you were involved with during the course of your project and charged them with implementing training around your experience.
While we can't go back and make your experience better we can absolutely learn from it and become better as a company.
Thank you

We hired RoofTek based on the good ratings and positive reviews. We did our homework-we spent weeks, not just a day or two, researching companies, checking licenses, insurance, Revdex.com, reviews, etc. We unfortunately chose RoofTek. Little did we know that our worst nightmare was about to begin. Tear-off crew and installers seemed very inexperienced and were not supervised on the job site. There was no one on site in whom we could communicate with. During the course of the work, two workers fell off ladders, one needing emergency care. A nail gun was not properly secured and slid off the roof and went through a large window. Luckily, no one was under it when it fell and no one was sitting at the kitchen table when it went through the glass. We had broken and scratched windows, siding that was severely damaged, deck railing that was knocked loose, damaged fascia, nails, screws and debris in driveway, lawn, landscaping and by our basement door (was stepped on by a family member who cut their foot).
Worse yet, they did not follow manufacturer's recommendations for roofing installation, VOIDING any warranty we may have had. We paid for a 50 year warranty that is now worthless due to faulty installation. After speaking to 2 different Owen's Corning Reps, they said it's too late to register extended warranties. Roofing companies that are "Preferred Contractors" with Owens Corning have 60 days after installation to register the extended warranty. It's been 461 days since installation and it's still not registered.
We already have singles starting to pull up and pieces of shingles falling off after moderately windy storms. Some areas of the roof the shingles are cut too short so they don't cover to the edge of the roof. Gutters are not slopped correctly resulting in standing water and leaking. Seams are sealed with so much sealant that it blocks the flow of water. When reviewed by another licensed roofer, it was discovered that the flashing was not done correctly on our dormers and on one of the peaks of the roof, there was exposed roof decking. Some of the newly installed shingles were so damaged during the installation that our 20 year old, storm damaged roof was in better condition.
We went several winter months without gutters. We had to make several calls, emails and texts to get them to come out to install the gutters and fix the damage. Even when they send contractors out to fix the problems, it has never been properly fixed. They did such a terrible job on the gutters that they are still leaking and overflowing when we get heavier rains. They attempted to put flashing up on the roof to deflect the water which did not fix the problem. The gutters are not slopped properly and sealed in such a way to impede the flow of water.
There is improper shingling technique throughout the roof. Did not cover all of the hip edges. Cut shingles too short on the rake edges, exposing the drip edge and deck. Edges are cut so badly that it can be seen from the ground 3 stories down. They damaged facia in several areas. Did not replace drip edge in some areas when it was in the contract to do so. The shingling technique was so random and so bad, our new roof looks horrible.
In an attempt to "fix" the siding, they tore off the damaged siding in several areas and then left it uncovered for months during the spring snow and rain. We had to call/text/email several times to get a response. Most communication went unanswered by the company and their representatives and contractors. The windows that they tried to replace were contracted by someone who we later found out was not licensed and not insured. We had to have one window replaced 3 times due to obvious defects in the glass. Two windows leak now when water gets on them. The windows don't even come close to matching the old ones. There's so much more to list-we could write a novel. We feel like we were deceived in every way. The "Description of Work" that was in our contract was not what we received. We did not get what we were promised in our contract and we have little recourse outside of court. It will cost thousands to repair our roof and house at this point. At no point has anyone from RoofTek offered to look at the quality of the installation.

RoofTek Response • Apr 22, 2020

Dear customer,

I would address these issues directly here but the rub of doing this is that we have already come to an agreement about a SIGNIFICANT discount for you to pay us what you owe for materials used. This discount amount we are willing to part with is contingent on you paying your portion. This email to get everything sent out was sent on 2/10/2020. With that out of the way I have countless records of revisiting your home to make fixes. We have been with you the entire way on EVERY issue that has happened. There are several items here that we could have addressed on our other countless revisits. We stand behind our work and our product and that should be proven by us continuing to work with you to fix our mistakes. We cannot claim to be perfect and at a certain point, we have to reach satisfaction for you. In order for us to readdress ANY of the claimed issues stated here, we will need you to pay your invoice we have sent. We look forward to helping you within reason.

LESS THAN 2YR ROOF LEAKING! SEE PHOTOS

We never agreed to any discount or settlement at any time. Rooftek offered to give us a VERY small "discount" which we did not agree to, especially since we are looking at having to replace the entire roof. The crews that did the actual work are inexperienced and most likely day labor. They were not trained in roofing basics. I'm honestly surprised no one was killed during our roof replacement. Two people fell off ladders, one needing emergency care. I provided first aid to this individual after witnessing his fall. Please read original review dated 2/25/20. Thousands in damages not sufficiently repaired. Faulty roof. Obviously, it seems who ever responded to my original review has very few, to no details of our actual case. Yes, RoofTek contractors were out several times to our home. It was only because of our persistent calls, emails and texts that they actually responded. Several times we went several weeks without any reply back from RookTek. It took contacting the licensing agent to get any response from them. We had to babysit all of the workers that came out to our home. Even with that, they struggled to repair anything. The "repairs" to our home were merely cheap patch jobs by untrained individuals. We have recorded every communication, call, email and text between us and Rooftek. We have several videos and photographic documentation of the poor quality of work and damage to our home. All of this has been sent to RoofTek back in February of 2020. They have NEVER had anyone from their company come out and inspect our roof or even offer to get up on the roof to inspect the damage and poor installation. We have had 3 certified roofing companies since state that the only way to fix the current problems with our roof is to completely replace the roof. At no time has Rooftek proposed any solutions to fixing the roof as well as the poor quality fixes that they have attempted. We were required to pay Rooftek almost the entire balance up front before the work was started (a red flag we missed). There is a comparatively small amount still owing that we will pay IF RoofTek honors the construction contract we have with them and we get what we paid for and they correctly repair the damage they did to our home. Our home will no doubt sustain more damage due to an actively failing roof. We are in communication with Owens Corning who is VERY concerned with the lack of quality with the installation with our home as well as others. They have been in communication with RoofTek as well. We are waiting for OC to inspect our roof. OC is a fantastic company but their product is only good if installed correctly, which is was not. As of today's date, no offer by Rooftek to inspect our roof or replace it. We will update our review if Rooftek "makes it right".

At first I was excited to work with RoofTek because the sales representative was truly helpful in getting my claim filed and giving me information on what the company would do, but when it came to the actual date scheduled for instillation no one showed up. I waited a few hours to give them the benefit of the doubt, but finally called in to see what was going on. They stated because of the weather they would not be coming that day and to expect them the next day. On the next day I again waited and waited andonce again no one showed up or called. Finally I called again and found out that the crew was still working on another project and wouldn't be able to come until the next day. On the third day the crew finally showed up, around an hour and a half later than the scheduled time I was told. When they did show up none of them came to speak with me. I went out and found out that none of them spoke English fluently. I had to explain to them that children would arrive within in the hour and that they should be careful, and just hope that they would understand. The crew also left without out a word and the garbage dumptser and leftover shingles were left in my driveway over the weekend. I had to leave vehicles on the street. When I finally called in to find out why they explained that the snowstorm had prevented them from picking it up. I was told that I would have a final inspection and then be given the bill. Neither of these things happened. When I finally called in to follow up on the billing they said they had emailed the bill to me. I took care of the bill over the phone right then. I was surprised a couple week later to recieve a notice that they had filed for collections (a few days before I called in) without ever having tried to call me or send me a paper copy of the bill. Overall the communication from the staff at the company was extremely poor. I was highly unsastified.

The basis of this negative review is that Rooftek salesman who came out to my house to give a roof bid enticed and pushed me to committ insurance fraud. Within a couple minutes of getting on my roof he stated I had hail and wind damage and that he was 100% sure he could "get me a new roof". I wasn't sure what was really meant by this so I proceed to talk with him and set up a claim and have my insurance adjustor come out to review my roof. As the situation evolved into another visit, this time with my insurance adjustor on site, it was apparent the RoofTek salesman trying to pull a fast one. The adjustor called him out on it within seconds of getting up on the roof. He stated there was no "claim" worthy evidence of hail damage or wind damage on my roof. The RoofTek employee proceeded to ask questions about other insurance questions relating to how he might get a roof to be covered by an insurance claim that were completely unrelated to my home. He didn't argue any areas or details concerning my roof and where he had previously told me that what he was seeing was hail or wind damage. It was very unprofessional and a waste of everyone's time. As the adjustor was finishing up his assessment the Rooftek employee proceeded to whisper out the side of his mouth to me that his recommendation would be to just "let the wind blow my roof off and then get a claim filed This was the most absurd thing I've ever had someone say to me considering the situation and the circumstances that were playing out. I didn't appreciate it one bit that he had falsely lead me to file a claim which is now on my insurance record as well as make jokes concerning his deceitfulness and the fact that I'm facing a $14000 real expense. There was no real response from the company sales manager when I called to inform them of their salesmans tactics. They did talk with him because I suddenly got a text message from the salesman out of the blue complaining that I had spoken to his manager and informed them of what he had done.
I responded to his text stating that this was not a matter to communicate back and forth via text and that I'd be happy to talk with him on a call. He proceeded to hide behind his text messages and send another unprofessional text and never called me to resolve the issue.
I feel the sales manager also missed an opportunity to make a bad situation better by offering me a discount or requote with their "best salesman" or something that would allow me to reformulate an opinion. Based on their response I feel the way this was handled reflects poorly on the company and not just the salesperson who created the mess.

I proceeded to get 3 more roof bids after this from different companies. Without telling them anything of this experience not one of them stated I had damage relevant to a hail or wind claim. As I'm not an expert roofer I was relying on the expertise of someone with knowledge and who could be trusted to provide an honest quote. RoofTek is not this company.

They replaced my asphalt roof with two different colors of shingles. In addition there was substandard nailing with the nail driven deeply into the shingles. After investigation I was told it would be taken care of after 90 days. At that time a person came out and inspected it and said that they would replace it. The installation was contracted on April the 10th 2018. On Nov the 9th 2018 I sent a registered letter asking to resolve the matter and as of today the 20th of December there has been no response.

Thank you for allowing us to respond back. The issue of the discoloration of the shingles is not that there are 2 colors of shingles. There is a issue with the shading in the shingles that were put on. This shingle was a white shingle and there are several shades of white and grey that go into the manufacturing of the shingle. We have contacted the manufacture because they originally told us to wait for 3 months to see if the shading will fade out which in the manufacturer's experience happens more often than not. These pictures that I have attached were taken on August 21st. As you can still see the shading issue still persisted. At that time. I have contacted the costumer to let them know that I am in communication with the manufacturer. I am waiting on the manufacturer and will get back with the costumer as soon as I have new information. We are going to take care of our costumer even if the manufacturer does not.

Thank you

Complaint: ***

I am commenting on this response because:

The company's response is somewhat correct. They did tell me that they would be replacing the roof after their visit after the 90 days and only after I called them to remind them of the problem. Then no response after that which was in the later part of Aug as they claim. They have not addressed the poor workmanship their installers did that was discovered when the manufacture's inspector came out. That being the nails were driven deeply into the shingles and in some places all the way thru. This will make them not last as long or come off in a high wind. Even after I sent a registered letter to the company last month there was not response.

Finally after this complaint was filed I received a phone call and they appear to be working on it but have blamed the manufacture still. So no plan is in place yet to deal with the problem except to check on the discoloration again and take samples to send to the manufacture when the snow load allows access to the roof. Even though the poor workmanship has been brought ever since the day after installation now they claim that they have no knowledge of it and the person that was assigned to the case no longer works there.

I am optimistic that they will do as they have promised several times but many months have passed so far and none of those promised have been met.

Sincerely

I have been in contact with *** and he is correct that we are going to take care of this situation. We are committed to costumer satisfaction. We are waiting for the snow to melt off the roof first so that we can attain the shingle samples and send them into the manufacturer so that we can get his claim approved and redo the roof.
