pre-occupied when moving in, and was told the parameters of the return ofhls deposit. Many clients don't read the contract even though it is their obligation. This is why, we send each and every client a welcome letter outlining that we require 10 days v.ritten notice of their fmal departure. This policy is also written on a sign on the exit gate that our tenants cars face, every time they leave the facility. Mr. [redacted] never sent a written termination of his tenancy. He did however come in on April 24, 2017 (11 :52am) and told me personally that he had moved his things out and that his lock was off the unit. He asked ifhe needed to do anything else and I said no. After he left I made a time and date stamped notation in his account. (This is how I know the date and time.) Mr. [redacted]' girlfriend rented a storage unit this month and apparently she reinforced the requirements of the deposits return for him. He called and asked why he did not get the deposit returned and we told him that he did not give sufficient notice. He later called me directly to discuss it. His story changed throughout the call the bob and weave around the policy. Here is what I heard during the course of that call:I came in l O days before the end of the month. (No he didn't)2. The girl I talked to told me that I was getting my deposit back. (No she didnt.)3. I talked to one of your employees (No, You talked to me.)4. I wanted to move out sooner, and only had a couple things in there.5. If you don't refund my deposit I am going to have my girlfriend cancel her rental with you and I am going to call the Revdex.com. (This was yelled and he hung up.)He called back a few minutes later. Lisa answered the phone by saying her name, which is where he heard that name. However what he does not realize is that Lisa is new and did not work here when he claims to have given her his notice. 1. He apologized for being rude, and then came up with a story about being somewhere else during that time and date stamp. I told him that while I might have waited a few minutes to a little while before I made the notation it doesn't change the fuct that he never gave me the written termination notiee his contract reqmres.2. Again, I was threatened and he hung up.Lastly, if Mr. [redacted] is a veteran I thank him for his service to our country. As Mr. [redacted] had no trouble walking, talking or moving items in and out of his unit we had no idea he was 100% disabled. We wish the best to him on his recovery.
