Review: I made a booking with Roomorama on March [redacted], 2014. Despite confirmation that the booking was secured, it was subsequently cancelled, without explanation, on May [redacted], 2014. An offer was made to provide a discount to their booking fee if I chose to make an alternative booking rather than take the refund. It was unclear that I would need to request a refund in order to have the funds returned.. On March [redacted], I was assured, in writing, that the funds would be returned within two business days. It has now been four business days.

I'm displeased with their refund practice.

I will also state that the cancellation policy is completely unfair. The host cancelled my booking with no explanation and no communication whatsoever. It was very disappointing to see the very same booking still available online and for a less expensive rate. This was an incredible shock and rather offensive. There has only been an offer from Roomorama staff to help me find alternative accommodations that are thousands of dollars more expensive.Desired Settlement: An immediate refund, an apology for the delay, and written commitment to a review of their refund practice. Ideally, the refund practice would automatically provide a refund within 48 hours unless the funds can be put toward an alternative booking.

Review: I purchased a stay in a house advertised and "verified" by Roomorama. I paid Roomorama $1005.00 to stay at a house in Silver Lake, Los Angeles, CA for 19 nights but didn't even stay one full night. I arrived to a harsh smell or air fresheners and as I stayed longer I noticed it was covering up the smell of dog urine. I have pictures to prove how dirty the place is. There was black mold in the bathroom, bugs in the bathroom, dirt around the boarders of the room. The house was a health hazard to say the least. I woke up in the middle of the night with hives, a rash, and extreme nausea and a clogged toilet. I discussed the issue with the seller and they have pushed me around saying that I only get a 20% refund since I am leaving within 7 days of the start date; however, I disagree because this place made me medically sick I should not have to pay any cancellation fee. Roomorama has agreed with the seller because the "seller has disputed my claims." This person is a scam artist and she stole $1005 from me. I have already told them if I do not get this resolved I will be taking them to court for not only the money lost but damages as well. I have pictures and emails for proof.Desired Settlement: I want a full $1005 refund. Roomorama gave me a lousy $210 back when I didn't even stay 1 full night at this disgusting house. I have pictures for proof. A 20% refund is a slap in my face especially considering how dirty this sellers house was. They got kicked off of [redacted] because they had too many complaints. Roomorama LLC is a business that needs to hold themselves responsible for health issues their advertisements resulted in.

Review: I went into the Roomorama website on ** October, 2013, to book an apartment for my family. I used the screen filters for dates, and child friendly. The website also wanted my credit card details, which I provided. I found a property that I thought might be suitable, contacted the owner, to find out that in their policy, no more than 2 children were allowed, that very young children counted as the number of people per their fire policy, the apartment was not child proof, and the dates that I wanted were not available. However, before I could even blink, Roomorama charged my credit card, and insisted that the host wanted this. I contacted the host directly, and he said that it was not true. I called Roomorama over six times to resolve this, they never returned my calls. I emailed them, and I found the person to be belligerent. They should not penalize their clients for glitches on their website, and misinformation about their properties. I used Roomorama many years ago when the company first started, and it used to be of good quality, but my latest experience many years later, leaves little to be desired.Desired Settlement: It is illegal for them to charge my credit card for $1026.98 when I cancelled my transaction with them, stating that they do not refund - even thought the booking was not for April 2014. In addition, they do not have human beings who return calls or are civil on the email chain. This has forced my hand to retaliate.

At this time, my complaint, ID [redacted] regarding Roomorama was resolved by the landlord who was renting the property out. Roomorama were thoroughly unhelpful.

Review: I have a vacation rental house advertised on Roomorama.com. We accepted a booking through Roomorama. It was from May ** to ** (check out). The guests stayed three nights and checked out. But we just know that the rental fee is still held by Roomorama. According to them, after guests checked in the first night, we should be paid but Roomorama is holding our payment.Desired Settlement: Please release the rental fee to us immediately. We need to pay local management, utility, tax and all bills. We are not charity to offer free stay. We are small short term rental business.

Review: on January **, 2013 I booked a room for my trip to New York in an apartment listed on the website. when I booked the apartment the owner of the property had said that the property was in a "safe and clean" area, once booked we noticed the area was far from safe and clean and wished to get a refund. I processed the cancelation in less than 24 hours after the booking took place. in the policy it stated that I would receive a full refund, and in 72 hours I received my full refund of $857. however just 48 hours later I noticed they had taken the $857 back out of my bank account. at this point I tried multiple times to call Roomorama and there seemed to never be anyone available to handle my phone call, so I emailed them after multiple voicemails. they responded to my email and advised me that I would receive my refund in the (**) in approximately 72 hours. I got my refund but they only refunded me less than half of what I initially paid which was only $373. I again tried multiple times to get a hold of them, and I finally was able to speak with a lady named [redacted], who happened to be the same lady who emailed me back in regards to the initial complaint, she said there was nothing she could do because of the room policy, but the room policy stated that if I canceled the room anytime before a month prior I would get a full refund. the room was booked for March [redacted] and was canceled on January **, well before the allowed time. after speaking with [redacted]on the phone she said she would give me call back in the next 48 hours to let me know what was going on. its been well over a week at this point, and close to 50+ phone calls during their business hours. I find all of this to be unethical of them that they would give me a full refund making me believe I had my money back and take it back.Desired Settlement: I would like to get my remaining $484 back from this company that has charged me for a fees in which they cannot explain to me. I have copies of all the emails we exchanged as well as the booking ID number.
