Review: On December **, 2013 I had purchased a gift certificate in the amount of fifty dollars from Roop Salon in East Meadow on Hempstead Turnpike. This was the third consecutive year that I had done so. The gift certificate that was handed to me was also the same as the previous two. On May **, 2015 my fianc ([redacted]) had tried to use the certificate and was denied. The [redacted] of the store told her that the certificate was no good because the person that sold me the certificate is no longer employed there. When [redacted] returned home I called the store. The [redacted] told me that she was also suspicious of the certificate because of the amount of the time that had passed. She admitted to me that the person who signed the cert did work there at the time I purchased the ticket. She also admitted that she still is using the EXACT same gift certificate. I unsuccessfully tried to explain using a few common sense points. 1: There is no indication on the certificate about time constraints. 2: I would have to have searched for the exact type of gift certificate book. 3: I would have to somehow ascertain a valid employee name that had worked there at the time. All of this for $50.Desired Settlement: I require a full fifty dollar refund.
