Their physical addresses for both Belton/Anderson are obscure. They have no website. So I used ***'s URL. For the Belton address for the Revdex.com site, I put 0000 as there is none listed anywhere I've looked. My Experience: They came out, found the septic site and dug two holes for inlet and outlet. They pumped my tank for five to six minutes. When I went outdoors to inquire why the pumping stopped, the man was filling in the holes already!! Meanwhile, the helper walked all over my yard and tried to sell me unneeded repairs using scare tactics. When that failed, they charged me an additional $200 for removing extra sludge. Afterward, I spoke with the office person, who told me it typically takes 45 min to 1 hour to pump out a 1000 gallon tank, (which I already know having had a septic system for 40 years.) When I asked her how could they possibly pump out my tank plus remove extra sludge in 5-6 minutes, she had no answer for me. I've called their office 3 times asking to speak with the office owner/manager to no avail as well as sent a certified letter to their West Columbia address (Certified letter went to: ***, SC ***) giving them the chance to make it right. So far, they have three 'F? ratings including mine on ***. Right now, I am out $550 and my septic tank still needs to be pumped. Because this has happened to me, I am sure they are shamelessly cheating others as well.

We do not agree with the accusations placed by Mrs.. I did speak with her myself on multiple occasions about her complaint that the technicians serviced her property too quickly. We keep a log of our technicians time from the moment they are dispatched through completion. As I explained to Mrs. from the beginning the technicians working time on her job was 37 mins. The field supervisor was on site for her service call and spoke with her in length about the issues on her property and the failures she was having with her system. We do not use " scare tactics" however, it is our responsibility to inform the homeowners of any potential or current failures and offer recommendations on their system performance. She was also informed prior to beginning the service of the additional fees due for the excessive amounts of sludge and waste in her system. I also admit to informing her that a typical routine pumping would take approximately 1 hr from start to finish. That includes uncovering and recovering the tank lids buried under the soil. The actual pumping time varies but does average around 20-25 mins. The statement that we put the hose in for 5-6 mins is false. The statement that when she returned from being inside for 5 mins and we were recovering is false. One technician was covering up the one side of the tank that was already pumped, but the other technician actually brought Mrs. over at that point while the 2nd lid was still removed to show her the excessive amounts of sludge and solid waste in the system. I also offered to return to the property and excavate the tank lids to prove to her that we did pump the tank out in its entirety if she would agree to pay a service fee if the tank was in fact empty at that time. She refused. I explained to her that if we found that the tank was not pumped , we would complete the pumping at no additional cost to her but if not, we would need to collect a service fee and she still would not agree. She stated that she was having no issues as in back up, surfacing , smells, gurgling toilets or slow flushes that would leave her to believe we did not do our job, but she just didn't believe they could complete it that quickly. She has no basis of this complaint and waited several days after service before contacting the office with her initial complaint. Also, we have 1 local office that we openly advertise located at *** in ***, SC and we have a corporate location in GA. At the time of Mrs. service we only offered septic services. We have now added plumbing services and integrated our website to include both. Our new web address is ***. Mrs. never asked me for our local address or our website. I would have happy to provide her with any information she needed for our company, however, I will not agree to send a truck out to her property located more than an hour from our shop when she is having no current failures just to dig up her tank lid to prove to her it was pumped if she will not agree to pay a service fee if she is wrong. I feel that if she is so sure we did not do what we said that she would not have a problem with agreeing to that.

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.

[Discrepancies made by Palmetto Pumpers: (1) They claim they log their workers time from the time they leave. What does that do? Who is to say where they stopped along the way? Maybe pump out a friend’s tank before getting to my house? Stopping for breakfast? (2) So if it took the technicians 37 minutes to dig, cover and pump out my tank, how did they have time to pump it for their alleged 25 minutes? How would the person I spoke to on the phone know how long my tank was pumped? She is going off of hearsay from the workers. ( 3) Their “workers” were double-teaming me and I felt very intimidated with their unscrupulous tactics. The “field supervisor” (when I was not looking) placed a 3-piece row of pristine-perfectly white toilet paper squares for me to see and told me that is what happens when using *** tissue, that it does not break down. He had laid them on top of the opening. How the heck could they possibly end up from my toilet to the top of the septic inlet pipe and not even in the tank in perfect order, perfect pristine white squares? That was the exact moment, I knew I was being conned, and just wanted those two individuals off my property ASAP. I felt, if this was a scrupulous company, they would want to investigate these two workers, and/or come to some kind of conclusion as to what went wrong. The office worker also told me that the manager/owner was coming out to speak to me which never happened. How can toilet paper possibly look perfectly square and clean (not wet at all) that has been flushed down into the septic system????? (4) Their statement of the pumping time of 20-25 minutes in reality was 5-6 minutes MAXIMUM. (5) The “field supervisor” showed me the second hole (outlet) and I really could not see any change. (6) Finally they offered to come out again but would charge me another fee if they could not find anything. Since the first trip was a total con, I was not going to incur any additional fees. That I had expected the job to be done correctly the first time around. I was never put in contact with the owner or manager per my request x 3. I figured any reputable business owner would want to know what happened and why I was unhappy. (7) I also asked the office person, why would I possibly want my yard dug up again unless something was not right? I’ve owned a septic system for over 40 years. It usually takes 45 minutes to an hour to get the job done. Pumping itself takes at least 30 to 45 minutes where the tank it stirred. The tank was never stirred either. It just cannot be done in 5-6 minutes, let alone remove “extra sludge.” (7) My property was purchased in April and I had wanted my tank to be cleaned at this time, so I have a good starting point. I was having no problems and wish to keep it that way. The system is 11-years’ old. (8) I contacted them three weeks after their visit, because I had health-related issues and just was not up to dealing with them at that time. (9) The office worker promised they would come out and remove the tank lids, and I DID agree to that, but they never showed. I told them I was giving them every opportunity to make this right, and they did nothing but ignore me. And here we are.

I did not think of taking any pictures, especially of the toilet tissue lined up in a row. (also, I do not use *** tissue - never have, never will.) As I previously stated, I know this was not on the up-and-up at this point and only five minutes of pumping. I felt very uneasy and just wanted the workers gone). At that time, I had planned on reporting this to the company. The worker was already filling in the holes after five minutes of pumping. It would also be very difficult to take a photo within a dark hole. I doubt you could see much.
*Note: I am willing to hire another company to come out and pump my tank. Upon the findings of the new company, and if they need to thoroughly clean my tank then it is incumbent upon Palmetto Pumpers to issue me a full refund. If the new company finds nothing or performs minimal cleaning, then it is on me. Fair enough?
