My property manager called Rooter Hero Plumbing to fix a shower that was not working at my rental propertyThe tech, Carlos, came out and then called me, telling me that the entire plumbing behind the shower had seized and they would have to cut into the wall, costing $1,(but that was a discount from the cost of $1,The tech explained the process, and I asked him questions about the payment optionsHe then asked me if he could get started on the workI told him to wait until I contact the property manager to discuss the cost, and that one of us would call him back in ten minutesAfter speaking with my property manager, we decide to get another quoteMy property manager called the tech back within minutes, and the tech states he has already started work, and tells the property manager that I authorized the work, and I also gave him my credit card information (which I did not), and then throws in that he will drop the price down to $1,if we let him continueIf we didn't continue, he would charge $on my credit card (which again, he did not have-oh, and the consultation/quote is advertised as free online)Meanwhile the "owner", Jose, of the company calls me on my cell phone and asks me what the issue is at the propertyI tell him what went on, and he calls me a liar and tells me I sound like a crazy person! I promptly told him that I want his tech and workers off of my property My property manager was able to have another plumber out to the house later that evening to look at the problemThe new plumber was able to fix the issue without going into the wall (the handle needed replacing and the screening needed to be replaced behind the shower head, that was it) and the total cost to me was $ RUN from Rooter Hero Plumbing! If the plumber starts talking about how the situation is dire, and that the quote they are giving is already discounted...that is a sign to stay far awayAlso, When they ask for all of your credit card information up front, before the quote, stay away (they asked me to fill out a credit card auth before the quote, I refused)! My property manager called Rooter Hero Plumbing to fix a shower that was not working at my rental property. The tech, Carlos, came out and then called me, telling me that the entire plumbing behind the shower had seized and they would have to cut into the wall, costing $1,400.00 (but that was a discount from the normal cost of $1,800.00. The tech explained the process, and I asked him questions about the payment options. He then asked me if he could get started on the work. I told him to wait until I contact the property manager to discuss the cost, and that one of us would call him back in ten minutes. After speaking with my property manager, we decide to get another quote. My property manager called the tech back within minutes, and the tech states he has already started work, and tells the property manager that I authorized the work, and I also gave him my credit card information (which I did not), and then throws in that he will drop the price down to $1,100.00 if we let him continue. If we didn't continue, he would charge $79 on my credit card (which again, he did not have-oh, and the consultation/quote is advertised as free online). The new plumber was able to fix the issue without going into the wall (the handle needed replacing and the screening needed to be replaced behind the shower head, that was it) and the total cost to me was $205.00.
RUN from Rooter Hero Plumbing! If the plumber starts talking about how the situation is dire, and that the quote they are giving is already discounted...that is a sign to stay far away. Also, When they ask for all of your credit card information up front, before the quote, stay away (they asked me to fill out a credit card auth before the quote, I refused)!
