Review: We considered renting this venue for our future wedding, however after reviewing their contract, we voiced some concerns. The owner, [redacted], verbally agreed to make changes to the contract during a telephone conversation. When no such changes were made in writing, he suggested we write an addendum. After we had spent much time with our attorney doing this, [redacted] handed contract negotiations to his catering manager, who legally cannot guarantee rental of the property. The catering manager had us scrap our addendum, negotiated "discounted prices" (that, as it turns out are still higher than their advertised prices) for his catering services and attempted to have us sign the original contract again. When I requested that I speak with [redacted], the owner, again to go over our concerns with the contract, [redacted] told us we were not a good fit for his venue. While he may reserve the right to refuse service, he did engage in 3 weeks of contract negoatians and attempted 3 times to get us to sign. He valued us as a potential client. If [redacted] does not want to negotiate his contract, he should simply say so from the get-go, not lead clients on and not place his English-as-a-second language employees in charge of such legal matters. Finally, [redacted] then used Rose Hill Manor's [redacted] page to publically post nasty comments about us. Rose Hill Manor's management is unprofessional, childish and may not be legally negotiating and enforcinig contracts for their business. At the very least, their manner of business is unethical and created undue stress and intentional emotional abuse.Desired Settlement: Public apology, disclaimer when dealing with new clients that he does not negotiate contracts.
