I rented a Home from [redacted] lived there approximately 2 years. During my bi annual inspection she never mentioned and said this would be a problem(referring to my problem list). All of a sudden when I notified her in writing that in 30 days I was moving out, Everything became a problem. Seem like she was "LURKING" to find something to charge me for. She kept going on and on about what she could charge me for. I received the impression that she could "CHARGE ME FOR ANYTHING" and I was at her mercy and that I better be lucky that I received the 79.00 bucks out of 1100.00 deposit. Seems like there is no guidelines to what they can charge you for the house will never return to its original state as moved in. Spoke to other rental property owners and they all stated she JIPPED YOU and some of that is FWT she can not charge you for FWT such as hanging pictures on the wall or hanging a TV on the wall in which she gave me permission. She sent my estimate of repairs when I returend the Emil with my dis satisfaction with the repairs "SHE FOUND MORE REPAIRS TO CHARGE ME FOR"...[redacted] is a RIPOFF I repeat do NOT RENT FROM HER.Desired Settlement600.00 OF MY REFUND BACKBusiness Response I am sorry this tenant feels I am a "ripoff". My goal is to treat everyone honestly and fairly. I am a property manager and work for the owner of the property. I rented this home September 2012 with fresh paint and new carpet in excellent condition. When I did the exit inspection with the tenant I gave him the option of retaining the keys to finish cleaning the interior of the house or having me do it. He told me he did not want to do it. So he was charged $57.50 to complete the cleaning. He left behind sheet rock damage larger than a quarter to 4 walls in the house for which he was charged to repair and paint. He damaged an interior door that had to be repaired and painted for which he was charged. He left large (hazardous) grease spots in several places in the garage that had to be removed by pressure washing. He burned several boards on the deck that had to be replaced. He left burn marks in 2 counter tops in the kitchen that we repaired at a minimal cost to him rather than replace the entire counter. He left black tar, gum (?) all over one of the bedroom carpets for which he was not charged. As per our rental agreement he did not complete the carpet cleaning so he was charged for that. I did not charge him to turn on the utilities for the repairs and cleaning. I gave a detailed itemization to the tenant and have pictures to detail the damage. Again, I strive to treat everyone I deal with honestly and fairly. I am sorry he is unhappy but there is nothing I can do about it.
