Business states that they will go ahead and send out a check in the amount of $4.05 to the address provided in the letter.

Review: I purchased 11 items and was overcharged for one of them. It was shown to be discounted on sale for 25% off, but I was charged full retail price. Their checkout registers are set up such that the cashier may see the transactions, yet it is difficult for the customer to see and follow. Upon reviewing my reciept at home I realized I was overcharged and called the store. I explained the issue and they reviewed the transaction and pricing and verified that I was indeed overcharged. I was told to come back and they would correct it. I explained that I did not have the time and would actually like to have it corrected over the phone. I was told that they could accommodate this, and then was turned over to Manager (Lance). He then informed me that returning to the store with the original receipt was my only recourse to having the overcharge corrected. I asked if he would be willing to offer me any assistance such as a greater discount to mitigate my extra time and cost for having to return. He informed me not only no, but that no companies would do that and that he has 20 years experience and that's just the way it is. When prices are not marked on items the customer is pretty much left to trust the integrity of the business to charge the right prices, as advertised. I do understand that mistakes will be made, however do not believe that the cost of those mistakes should be left to the consumer to absorb. The pricing difference for this transaction amounts to about $4. It would cost me at least $5 in gas alone to drive back there. I would expect that they could: #1) take care of this over the phone as they said they would to start with, or 2) mail the overcharged amount, or 3) offer some type of incentive for me to have to come back for them to correct their error. While 20 years of experience may save this business $4, it will ensure that this customer will no longer be one of this establishment, as well as not have anything good to say about it.Desired Settlement: refund me the amount I WAS OVERCHARGED on transaction [redacted], dated12/05/14 at 9:49 am, register 574 , Roseville Ace Hardware 108 A Harding Blvd., Roseville CA 95678 ###-###-####: Item #[redacted], Premium Kit Can Am Racer, 1 ea., 14.99 ea.
