In regards to the claim made it against me I was hired to do and hard wood floor job for *** *** in October of We started the job and sanded down the floors with a orbital sand (this type of sander would not leave the scratches they are referring to) the customer indicated that they would
like the trim down as well so the price was adjusted to include doing the trim then they also asked if all the doors could be done because it was going to cost to much to replace all the door, again the price was adjusted to reflect the increase in labor and materialsAfter staining the floors there were some inconsistencies in the floor and finish I told them I would fix itUnfortunately that weekend I sustained a 3rd degree burn that covered 1/of my left hand a put my in the UW Madison for days ultimately ending up with a skin graftI was out of work for months because of thisThe customer was understanding and worked with me on thisWhile I was unable to work they decided to remove a bathroom and completely gut the kitchen as well remove a wall that was common to the kitchen and living roomThis put scratches in the floor (I have pictures)As soon as I could work I addressed the issues with the floorIn order to fix the floor I ended up sanding one room all the way back to natural and refinishing it the customer indicated that they word like the whole house redone the same way there was no charge for the labor to do this only the extra materials to complete the task ($200)As I was almost done with the re sanding the customers boyfriend approached me and said he would make me a deal (his exact words)He said that there timeline had changed and it conflicted with my up coming work and that he would pay me the same amount (5000) if agreed to only sand all the floors trim and doors and that Rachel's cousin would do all the staining when they were readySo reluctantly I agreed as I don't like not finishing the work I startI told him I would write an amendment to the contract to show the change and he signed itI finished sanding the floor and took all the trim and doors back to my house to sand as to not create anymore dust in there homeIt took another week to finish all the sandingIn the mean time I was no longer allowed access to the homeOn the the day I returned the trim and doors I had to wait for the customer to let me inI dropped off the trim and doors but was still not allowed across to do a final walk throughI gave him the final bill and he leftLater he text me and said he would have final payment on February 17thA few days later he said there were some things that needed some attention as far as sanding and he would send pictures and I told him I would take care of itThere was no contact for the customer at this pointSo here we are march and I still haven't been allowed to see what they are referring to nor have I been paidNot to worried about the $stilled owed but but they are slandering my company name and taking me to small claim courtI have copies of all the messages as well as pictures and contracts and amendments.
