Ross Heating & Air Conditioning Reviews (3)

Business response taken by phone: I installed the new furnace which is a high efficiency unit, AC and checked the ductwork The consumer was happy with the work that was done This past winter was the most severe we have had in many years and the customer lives in a trailer, which
is not well insulated I will be happy to check the system and correct any issues that where recommended by the other HVAC company but am not obligated to refund any money I have made an appointment to check out her system and will do what I can to make her happy

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Regards,
[redacted]

I do not agree with the resolution Mr. Ross has offered.   He promised to come back in December to start up the furnace and test gas pressure, which would have given him the opportunity to bring a furnace filter which he dummied by laying two damaged grill plates on top of the furnace, he refused to come.  I contacted him by face book in march after paying 700 to 800 dollars per month to heat my home all winter, freezing in fear setting our heat past 64 degrees because one degree higher made the furnace run continuously and we could not afford the bills, we suffered illnesses all winter, made numerous trips to the doctors and emergency rooms, he promised with the more expensive,  two-stage high efficiency package we purchased for 5700.00, our bills would no more than 300.00 per month, I explained what was going on he said he would get back to me, he did not.  I proceeded to write him a letter on April 9th, he called me and told me I better not threaten him because in the letter I stated I would report him, he insulted me, he insulted my home, I reminded him of the promises he made, he told me, he would not come over and listen to me saying, you said this and you said that, I started to cry and pleaded with him to please come and find out what the problem was, my father just passed away and I was suffering and could not deal with anything else, he finally agreed to come and said he would be out when it got warmer....even though we froze all winter and were still freezing with the thermostat set at 64.  I waited a couple weeks till it got warmer called him, he told me he would call me next week, again he did not call.  I called another H.V.A.C. company to find out what was going on and found out my bills were so high because I had a two-stage furnace wired in single stage which produces half the heat, the gas pressure was not adjusted accordingly, and half of the duct work was disconnected, those are the reasons my bills were so high, and found out an entire list of things that were suppose to be done during installation that were either not done at all, or if they were done, they were done the wrong way or the cheapest way possible, which are definitely gonna cost me more money down the road.  I proceeded to call Mr. Ross, started to read off the list, he asked why I didn't have them do the list, I replied because I already paid you to do it, his reply to that was, Is that what it says in the contract?  Knowing that I was busy caring for my father on his death bed, that he never left a contract, or warranty info etc., just a receipt and a furnace book.   I again pleaded with him to just fix the problems the correct way, his response was, I'm not losing money! Finally he said he would call me next week and check things out, again he did not call.  I contacted the [redacted], and filed a complaint with consumer relations, they confirmed that wiring a two-stage furnace in single stage, not adjusting gas pressure and unconnected duck work would definitely cause a dramatic increase in electricity bills and would also cause damage to a brand new furnace.  A claim has been filed, it is currently under investigation.  I am cannot afford to have all the repairs done as I am currently unemployed due many illnesses so I am doing a little at a time.  I had to have the furnace rewired so I could use the ac, I had to have the manifold pressure adjusted or the furnace motor would have eventually blown, I also had to have a furnace bracket installed because the furnace was moving, as well as more had to add more refrigerant to the ac, as he did not have the proper amount in the brand new ac I purchased.  I have attached photos of the rest of the items I will have to have repaired eventually.  Improper duct work, the copper ac line that was supposed to be soldered, but instead he glued it, the contraption he through together to serve as  intake and exhaust pipes through roof, etc., I also attached a copy of the letter I sent him.  He did all this knowing that Oswego County where I reside, did not require a permit or inspection.  He also did all this because he knew I was a single mother, who was not knowledgeable of what was suppose to be done.  Mr. Ross has many other complaints about his work and his knowledge about his work on google, yahoo and other sites!  I do not trust him, trust his work, believe he would even do the repairs or he would have done them correct the first time.  I gave him numerous opportunities to do the right thing, which is do what he was paid to do, the correct way!  I do not want him to come back to my home, which he refers to as a non-insulated trailer, which it is not!  I have a four bedroom, three bathroom, 2000 square ft. home on two acres of land, that has sheet rocked walls and insulation just like his home, only I got mine by being a hardworking single mother who does not insult or take advantage of people like Mr. Ross does.  My goal is to make sure that NO ONE else suffers at the hands of this man and his company like I did, ever again!
