Roy is correct that he did not install or sell the spacer and it is oldThis spacer was inspected and in good shape.also every vw has one for each axlePeople are running these with 300hp drag cars Again like I said before I can not take the transmission apart to find what caused my issueThe fact that he would and still will not even offer to open it up him self to make sure there is nothing wrong as he claims is suspect to meAll he had to do was offer that with no promise made that he would find anythingBut would not and will not do thatHis customer service has poor from the beginningHe ignored emails sent to him and when he does reply it takes to daysHe is not going to convince me there is nothing wrongI wish I could have another expert take it apart but I obviously cannotSo this where we standAt this point I have no trust in him or his businessMy position still stands.
Regards,

Roy at mofoco is misstating my complaint. He keeps saying that I did not install the spacer. The spacer was installed during installation. Because of what I believe to be an issue with the differential the spacer was destroyed after a little over 200 miles. Now I cannot state what the exact issue to be because if I or I have someone else open the diff. I would lose any warranty there should be. Now Roy did tell me he would repair the transmission for $250 labor and did not mention parts. There are multiple damaged parts in the diff. That I can see and I am not sure how many I can't see. At this point I have $400-$500 in other damaged parts as well that were not part of the transmission purchase. I just want to send him his transmission back and get my money back.

Mr [redacted] bought a high performance transmission.  Each transmission is built and test driven in a vehicle prior to shipping.  When Mr. [redacted] received and installed the transmission; it had no problems.  Here is his initial email to us regarding the issue."My name is [redacted] and...

I purchased a pro street trans from you. I installed this in my dune buggy with the 2332cc engine that I built. I put 213 miles on the drive train and then noticed a clunking noise coming from the diff. I have now removed the motor and trans. Removed the axles and found that the spacer in between the side gear and the snap rings is disintegrated, the snap rings were still in place but cupped. My new $300  chomoley axle is damaged as well as the side gear and spider gears. There is also scarring in the housing the side gear rides in and the bearing cage is damaged. Also it like some of the balls in the side bearing might be missing and I can see that the bearing cage is damaged. All of this is on the passenger side."The transmission was shipped without any axles, spacers, clips, side gears, etc.  Mr. [redacted] was 100% responsible for installing these things, which he admittedly did not purchase from us.  His fully admits that the required spacer was not installed when he took everything apart to inspect the damage.  This missing spacer was directly responsible for all the damage his transmission sustained.  The reason being that if there is too much space; the axle will move in and out and "bang" on the side gear, the axle and the bearing.  This is a very straightforward issue.  If the spacer is missing; that is why there is damage.  Who is responsible for installing the spacer?  Mr [redacted] was.I then asked if he thought there was anything I could have done during our build process to prevent this problem and here is his response."don't know what could have happened in the build process maybe nothing. What I do think is that I believe there was part failure in the diff. that I believe had nothing to do with my spacer. I believe whatever was wrong in the diff. caused this issue."Basically he is saying that he has no explanation for what happened but it must be our fault.  Because of all the above evidence; this is not a warranty issue.  As a courtesy, I have offered to fix his transmission for $250.  He declined my offer.  I do not feel that there is any other resolution to this.

Mr [redacted] never stated in his original complaint that the spacer was broken but did so in an email after reading my response. Regardless, I did not make the spacer, I did not sell him the spacer and I did not install the spacer. There is nothing inside the transmission that can cause the spacer to break. These 50+ year old spacers can break. They were made in the 1960's. I cannot be held responsible for a 50+ year old piece breaking. Again, I didn't see it, I didn't touch it, I didn't sell it and I didn't install it. Sometimes things just break, the world is an imperfect place. There isn't always someone to blame and make pay when something breaks. As I stated, this is not a warranty issue. There is nothing I could have done differently that would have prevented this from happening. I have made Mr [redacted] a fair offer. He can't still accept at any time.

Mr [redacted]'s BRAND NEW 1835 engine was shipped on August 26th through Estes Express. The tracking number is 078-9161793. He was sent an email with this information on Aug 26th at 5:31pm.
