Rossi's Auto Body

I have reviewed the response by [redacted] on complaint #[redacted]. The Department of Business Regulation came down on October 5, 2014 to inspect the repairs that we finished to [redacted]'s vehicle and found that we did everything that we stated in the estimate. [redacted] Chief Public Protection Inspector advised me to put a Mechanic Lien on Vehicle so we could get paid for our expenses and labor. [redacted] stated that [redacted] Rossi stated that he told [redacted] it would cost $1200.00 without seeing the damages to the vehicle on the phone. [redacted] did not state to her any price on the phone besides [redacted] Rossi is retired and has no authority to state any prices for Rossi Auto Body, Inc. We have assigned this matter over to our Attorney [redacted] has been harassing us ever since we finished her car. [redacted] Rossi - Rossi’s Auto states “never” 1 complaint!! Why then does he have a lawyer on retainer? That looks like another lie to me & he switches stories, more than anyone I ever met, and I’m 57 years old!! I made a deal over the phone end of Aug 2014. At this point [redacted]’t remember day. I [redacted]’t deal with [redacted] Rossi, only with [redacted] Rossi - his brother & partner. Well, [redacted] quoted me over the phone $1200.00, for the entire job!! And that’s including using used parts with them paying, or less he said, he’d tell his brother to write it for that and [redacted] was trying to get parts new. I got the parts, paid for and delivered 2 them, as well as a windshield.
[redacted] Rossi Sr. did come out here in July and told me 2,500!! I told him never mind. That’s way over my head and wouldn’t happen!!!  I got 2 more estimates from [redacted], he quoted me $1800 - 1,000 down & payment. Still 2 much for me, I spoke 2 [redacted] in Aug. 2014 he said 1,200 or less with used parts, so I went with Rossi Auto Body. As [redacted] Rossi is ½ owner as well. Dealt with him be 4. He kept his word. So I thought I could trust him this time!! Wrong. Now [redacted] says, “I’ll never be asked to prove that, it was over the phone!!!” Now siding with his brother. When he quoted me 1,200 it was with used parts, included them paying for them. I tried to get in writing, [redacted] said [redacted] does that. Which I asked for numerous times and he said he didn’t do it yet, he’s tired etc, then takes off on vacation and [redacted]’s not around!!!  They kept avoiding giving me anything in writing, after car already towed there by [redacted], my [redacted]!!!. So I couldn’t do nothing, I would have never ever agreed to 2,500!!! No Way

Rossi Auto Body, Inc has been in business for 65 years without 1 complaint. The reason that [redacted] is complaining is because of her financial problems. [redacted] Rossi saw her vehicle a 2004 [redacted] in July 2014 at her home. Mr. Rossi gave Miss [redacted] a verbal estimate of $2500.00...

without dismantling vehicle for any other damages. This Vehicle was heavily damaged to front end & caused 2 Airbags to deploy & Seat Belt retractor to lock for safety reasons. Miss [redacted] talked to [redacted] Rossi about having her car towed to our garage because her Landlord wanted her to remove vehicle for safety reasons. [redacted] told Miss [redacted] that he would save her some money if she would buy parts for her car because we had no luck finding good used parts. When [redacted] looked at this vehicle the first time we told Miss [redacted] that her car was damaged so badly that any other Body Shop would consider her car a Total Loss. We felt bad about her difficulties and tried to keep costs down to save her vehicle. Miss [redacted] found some used parts online and Airbags & Modules she had parts delivered to us but only paid a portion of the bill so we paid the balance.  Also her car had trouble starting because starter cellonoid rusted out. So we purchased a used one and had a mechanic install, also she needed a seat belt drivers side retractor so we purchased a used one and had that installed. When car was completed on October 3, 2014 we called Miss [redacted] and she told us she did not have any money to pay the outstanding balance of $1,645.00 which is almost half of what I stated in the beginning of $2500.00 without dismantling vehicle.  We tried to help her with all her difficulties, but we are in business not to lose money.
