Initial Business Response /* (1000, 10, 2016/01/04) */
Please note the following information on this order:
The customer moved from California to Arizona, therefore, her move under the authority of United Van Lines, Incand not under *** Relocation ServicesOn all interstate
moves, we do an inventory of all of the pieces moving, including furniture, boxes we pack and boxes packed by the customerMs*** claims that we did not inventory all of the boxes she packed, however, upon looking at her inventory, you can see that we have cartons marked as CP - Carrier Packed - meaning they were packed by us (pages of and of 2)In addition, on the rest of the inventory, you will see about boxes (pages and 4) of cartons marked as PBO - meaning Packing By OwnerShe has insisted over and over that no boxes packed by her were inventoried, however, here is proof that we didThese are all of the cartons that were tendered to the driver for shipping that were packed by the customerAll of these boxes were received by the customer upon delivery
The customer filed a claim with our Home Office as, again, this was a move on their authorityHer claim was denied because their investigation found that all of the items (furniture and cartons) tendered to the driver for shipping, were, in fact, signed for and received by the customer
Her claim to United Van Lines was for $39,claiming that all of her jeans, winter jackets, fur coats and a wedding dress were missing - all in wardrobe cartonsNone of these items are listed on her High Value Inventory, which should have been if they were valued at over $per poundThis is what she claimed on her claim formIn addition, see the Inventory Control Forms where she indicates that all items were received
I have attached her inventory, high value inventory, inventory control forms and her claim formWe feel that Ms***'s shipment was handled correctly and that all that we moved was receivedIt seems difficult to understand how all of the items she claims as missing would have fit in two cartons, and in addition, there is no way to show that those items were shipped as, again, they were not listed on a High Value Inventory
Please let me know if I can answer any questions
Regards,

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 12, 2016/01/05) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
My wardrobe boxes are missing despite all the back and forth from this companyTheir inventory process and delivery process is sub-parI would not go through all this time and effort to file these complaints if it wasn't warrantedAt the end of the day they are going to fall back on their paperwork and as a customer my hands are tied

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2014/10/14) */
First and foremost, this is a customer of Corrigan and United Van Lines and NOT [redacted]. The Corrigan van operator hired certified quality labor REFERRED by [redacted] to assist HIM in unloading this order on July 5th and the referenced...

Santa Rosa order on July 6th.
[redacted] does operate as a Certified Weighmaster, independently of [redacted] Relocation Services, and did provide the van operator with a Gross Weight on July 4th at 1:46 PM, and a [redacted] on July 5th at 2:52 PM,immediately after this shipment was unloaded. Both weights were in accordance with California Bureau of Weights and Measures regulations, and electronically and inalterably date and time stamped .
As a point of clarification, the [redacted] order delivered directly from the Corrigan van on July 6th, AFTER the completed weighing of the [redacted] order, and was never unloaded onto a [redacted] truck or any other truck. The [redacted] order was not weighed at our facility.
Copies of both [redacted] weight tickets were included in TransDocs and the billing documents sent to Stanford University and, by law, are available for inspection. I would be happy to provide copies to the Moores.
Even though [redacted] is not a participating agent in this order, I hope this information helps to clarify any misunderstandings or involvement with our company.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
There are some inconsistencies in the [redacted] shipment between [redacted] and Corrigan. [redacted] states the items weren't unloaded onto a second truck, but Corrigan states that they were.

Hi Dr. [redacted],

The weight of your items before delivery was 62,560# on July 4th. Then, the driver delivered your items on 7/5 and the weight was 50,940 = 11,620 pounds. The weight tickets show a certified weight of 11,620 that was billed. The driver also confirmed he did not add fuel before acquiring the weights on your move.

On the other move, the weight tickets show 19,180 before delivery and 17,300 after delivery or an actual weight of 1880 pounds. The other move was delivered using a shuttle truck as the site was not tractor-trailer accessible. I hope this helps.

Dear [redacted] team,
The above e-mail prompted our concern that the [redacted] items had been unloaded onto a "shuttle truck" prior to our "Tare weight" was obtained.
Are you saying that Corrigan (based our of New York) contracted with a second local moving company in the bay area on a Sunday (7/6/14) to shuttle the items after working with your company on Saturday 7/5/14?

Final Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2014/10/21) */
[redacted],
[redacted]'s only legal connection to this order is that we provided a certified weight to the van operator. The first I ever heard of a request for copies of those weight tickets was in your complaint filed against my company! Give me a place to send the copies and I will have them out today. Again, copies have been sent to Stanford by United Van Lines through billing.
I can only tell you what I know to be true. The driver got a heavy weight at our Livermore location, hired help to unload your order, and returned for his light weight.
I have verified that on Sunday, he hired the same men to unload in Santa Rosa DIRECTLY from his truck.
I think you will find that the gross and tare weights of the Santa Rosa order were obtained on a shuttle truck at origin and not here in California. Unfortunately, since [redacted] has nothing to do with your order, I can only provide copies of the certified weight tickets we provided and I have no access to any other information about your order or any others on the van.
However, I will be more than happy to talk to you directly and try to assist in getting whatever information or documentation you are looking for. Please feel free to call me @
